Paris Saint Germain Vs Atalanta Player Ratings: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia rated 9/10 as PSG Run Riot in 4-0 Thrashing

PSG vs Atalanta

From the moment the first whistle blew at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain looked like they meant business. This Champions League encounter was less of a contest and more of a statement, a brutal 4-0 dismantling of a shell-shocked Atalanta side that had no answers. The game was practically over before it began. Marquinhos set the tone, finding the net just three minutes in. That early goal completely shattered any game plan the visitors might have had.

PSG's attackers moved with a fluidity that was just breathtaking to watch. They were relentless. Even a missed penalty from Bradley Barcola, brilliantly saved by the overworked Marco Carnesecchi, did little to halt their momentum. The Italian keeper was the only reason this wasn't an even bigger embarrassment for Atalanta. He made an incredible nine saves, but it wasn't nearly enough. The Parisians were simply on another level. Goals from the magical Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and the marauding Nuno Mendes before the hour mark put the result beyond any doubt.

The second half continued in the same vein. PSG controlled possession effortlessly, picking apart the Atalanta defence at will. It felt like watching a training exercise at times. The final nail in the coffin was hammered in by substitute Gonçalo Ramos in stoppage time, capping off a perfect night for the home side. This was a dominant performance in every sense of the word, a clear signal of intent for their Champions League campaign. Atalanta, on the other hand, have a lot to think about after this match. Paris Saint-Germain Player Ratings vs Atalanta

Here are the PSG player ratings:

Goalkeeper

Lucas Chevalier - 7.0: Honestly, he could have brought a book to read. He had one of the quietest nights a keeper can have in the Champions League. He was called into action a couple of times, notably saving a header from Pasalić, and did so without any fuss. His distribution was tidy, and he commanded his area on the rare occasions Atalanta ventured forward. A clean sheet earned with minimal effort.

Defenders

Achraf Hakimi - 8.0: An absolute menace down the right flank. What stood out to us was his relentless energy. He was a constant attacking outlet, hitting the woodwork and creating a big chance. His assist was well-deserved. Defensively, he wasn't tested much, but he made his tackles and recovered the ball effectively when needed. A top-tier performance from the wing-back.

Marquinhos - 9.0: A true captain's display. He set the tone for the entire match with his goal just three minutes in, popping up in the box like a seasoned striker. He then won the penalty with clever movement. Defensively, he was a rock, winning almost all his duels and showing his class and experience. A near-perfect game from the leader at the back.

Willian Pacho - 7.0: The quiet achiever in a backline that was rarely troubled. His passing was crisp and accurate, helping PSG build from the back with ease. He was positionally sound and made a few important clearances and tackles. While his partners grabbed the headlines, he performed his duties with calm and composure. A solid, understated performance.

Nuno Mendes - 8.5: What a talent. He was an unstoppable force on the left side, capping his performance with a brilliantly taken goal from a difficult angle. He was a constant threat, driving forward with his exceptional dribbling and creating chances. From our perspective, his attacking prowess was just as important as his defensive work. Substituted late after a fantastic 75-minute shift.

Midfielders

Fabián Ruiz - 8.0: The creative spark in midfield during the first half. He provided the clever assist for the opening goal and was a constant source of creativity, carving out two big chances for his teammates. His vision and passing range were on full display. He controlled the tempo beautifully before being substituted for a well-earned rest.

Vitinha - 8.5: The midfield metronome. This guy was everywhere. He had over 100 touches, and his 95% pass accuracy shows just how influential he was. He dictated the entire flow of the game from deep, breaking lines with his passes and creating three chances. A masterful performance in controlling the centre of the park. Absolutely world-class.

João Neves - 7.0: Looked very tidy and composed before his game was cut short by an unfortunate injury. He kept possession ticking over with near-perfect passing accuracy and showed a great defensive work rate. It's a shame his night ended early, as he was slotting into the midfield seamlessly. A solid, if brief, display.

Forwards

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - 9.0: Simply magical. This was the performance of a superstar. He scored a stunning goal from distance and was a nightmare for the Atalanta defence all evening, creating four chances. His dribbling was sublime, and he seemed to glide past defenders at will. A truly exhilarating performance that earned him our Man of the Match award.

Senny Mayulu - 7.0: A lively and energetic display from the young attacker. He showed great movement and drew several fouls in dangerous areas. While his finishing was a bit raw and he missed a couple of chances, his willingness to run at the defence was commendable. A promising performance that suggests there's much more to come.

Bradley Barcola - 7.5: A truly bizarre performance to rate. On one hand, he provided an assist and created three chances. On the other hand, he missed a penalty and spurned two other big chances. His end product was a mixed bag, but his constant involvement and ball recovery were impressive. A frustrating yet effective night.

Substitutes

Warren Zaïre-Emery - 7.5: Came on and immediately brought more control and drive to the midfield. Almost got an assist for Vitinha's late shot.

Lee Kang-In - 7.0: Looked sharp and creative after coming on, linking up play well and setting up a great chance for Zaïre-Emery.

Gonçalo Ramos - 8.0: The perfect impact sub. He came on for the injured Neves and was a constant threat, eventually getting his well-deserved goal with a cool finish.

Illia Zabarnyi - N/A: Came on late for Nuno Mendes and had little time to make an impact with the game already won.

Ibrahim Mbaye - N/A: Replaced the brilliant Kvaratskhelia and had a late shot saved, but didn't have enough time for a full rating.

Manager

L. Martínez García - 9.0: His game plan was executed to perfection. His team selection was spot on, and they dominated from start to finish. The substitutions were managed well, resting key players while maintaining the team's intensity. A tactical masterclass against a usually tricky opponent.

Atalanta Player Ratings vs Paris Saint-Germain

Here are the Atalanta player ratings:

Goalkeeper

Marco Carnesecchi - 8.0: It feels strange giving a keeper who conceded four goals such a high rating, but he was absolutely phenomenal. He made a staggering nine saves, including a penalty save on Barcola. Without him, this would have been a historic thrashing. He was let down completely by the defence in front of him. A heroic performance in a losing effort.

Defenders

Odilon Kossounou - 5.5: He was busy, making four tackles and a few clearances, but he was ultimately part of a defensive unit that was torn to shreds. He struggled to cope with the movement of PSG's forwards and was often pulled out of position. A very difficult night for the defender.

Isak Hien - 4.0: A night to forget. From our perspective, he was the weakest link in a very weak chain. He was dribbled past three times, lost most of his duels, and made an error leading to a shot. He looked completely out of his depth against the quality of PSG's attack. A truly poor performance.

Berat Djimsiti - 5.0: Looked overwhelmed and was chasing shadows for most of his 75 minutes on the pitch. He struggled to get close to PSG's attackers and was dribbled past too easily. He couldn't impose his physicality on the game at all before being substituted.

Midfielders

Lorenzo Bernasconi - 5.0: The game completely passed him by. He struggled to make any impact, losing possession frequently and offering very little either defensively or offensively. He was a passenger in a midfield that was comprehensively overrun by their PSG counterparts.

Marten de Roon - 5.0: The captain fought, but it was a futile effort. He was constantly chasing the ball, leading him to commit a series of fouls out of pure frustration. He was dribbled past three times and couldn't provide the defensive shield his backline desperately needed. A tough day at the office.

Yunus Musah - 4.5: A disastrous outing for the American midfielder. He looked lost, gave away a penalty with a clumsy challenge, and picked up a yellow card. He lost possession cheaply and was completely bypassed by PSG's midfield trio. Rightfully substituted after a very poor showing.

Raoul Bellanova - 4.5: His error leading to a goal was a key moment that highlighted his difficult night. While he put in a few crosses, his defensive contribution was severely lacking. He was often caught out of position and struggled to handle the overlapping runs on his flank.

Forwards

Charles De Ketelaere - 5.0: Completely anonymous. He touched the ball just 20 times before being hooked at halftime. He offered no threat, no creativity, and failed to make any impression on the game whatsoever. A very disappointing performance.

Daniel Maldini - 5.0: Similar to his attacking partner, he was a ghost in the first half. He had very few touches and was unable to influence the game in any meaningful way. It was no surprise to see him substituted at the break.

Mario Pasalić - 5.5: He worked hard and had a couple of half-chances, including a header that was saved. However, he was often isolated and struggled to get involved. He was caught offside twice and couldn't provide the cutting edge his team desperately needed.

Substitutes

Nikola Krstovic - 6.0: Came on at halftime and at least showed some fight, getting a couple of shots on target, but it was too little, too late.

Giorgio Scalvini - 5.5: Replaced Musah but couldn't stem the tide before unfortunately picking up an injury himself.

Marco Brescianini - N/A: Brought on for Djimsiti but had little impact on proceedings.

Honest Ahanor - N/A: Came on for the injured Scalvini late in the game.

Manager

I. Juric - 4.0: From our perspective, he got his tactics completely wrong. His team was set up in a way that left them dangerously exposed at the back, and they paid the ultimate price. He failed to adapt after the early goal, and his side was systematically dismantled—a humbling night for the manager.

Sportsdunia's player of the match is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
