Fans react as Atalanta achieves a historical milestone in Europe following a victory over Marseille

Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio or also known as Atalanta, made a historical win over Marseille in the second leg of Europa League semi final at Gewiss Stadium. The win was not only getting them closer to the title but also it was the first time in the history of the club that they reached the European final.

Beforehand, Atalanta’s best milestone was to reach the quarter-final twice, in 1991 and 2022. In this season’s quarterfinal, they shook the world by sending one of the strongest title contenders Liverpool out of the competition. 

Gian Piero Giasperini is also one name who emerged to the surface in the online celebration after the game. Many think that the Italian deserved more recognition, mainly from the club for this achievement since no manager could ever do this before. 

The internet reacted wildly upon the monumental victory with most of them congratulating La Dea for the achievement. Some of them compared Atalanta’s accomplishments with what AS Roma have gone through so far. 

But the journey is not over yet because there is still one huge wall ahead. In the final, La Dea will face Bayer Leverkusen who prevented an all-Italian final by eliminating AS Roma.
