Hardik Pandya In Doubt For IPL 2025 Playoffs After Breaching Code of Conduct

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya is under serious doubt for the IPL 2025 playoffs after breaching the Code of Conduct during the rain-hit game between MI and GT at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. During the match, Mumbai Indians were found short of the no. of overs and as a result, the players were fined.

Not only the Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra was fined for breaching the code of conduct during the game. Nehra was at his best during the match and was seen chatting with the umpires in an animated manner, which probably didn't go down well with the match officials.

Hardik Pandya was penalised INR 24 lakh for MI's slow over rate against Gujarat Titans. It was Mumbai Indians' second offence this season under the leadership of Pandya. Not only him, but his MI teammates were also fined INR 6 lakh or 25% of the total match fees, whichever is less. The MI skipper and the whole team have accepted the offence, which means there is no need for a further hearing.

Nehra was highly involved in the rain-hit game and even had an argument with the umpires over the start of the game. In the final stages of the match, he suggested that the umpires restart the game after a small rain interruption.

The match officials found him guilty of breaching Article 2.20 of the IPL Code of Conduct. As a result, he was fined 25% of his match fees and handed a demerit point as well. It is not the first time that a coach has been fined this season of the IPL. Earlier, DC bowling coach Munaf Patel was also handed a demerit point for breaching the code of conduct during his team's match against Rajasthan Royals.
