LeBron James Skips Attending Met Gala 2025 Due to Knee Injury

LeBron James was supposed to attend his first Met Gala event this Monday. However, due to a knee injury that he picked during the playoffs first round, he had to skip coming to the event. Instead, his wife Savannah James went in his place and LBJ could not get enough of his queen serving looks at the event.

On X, James posted a tweet where he informed his fans that he won't attend the Met Gala event because of his knee injury. Instead, he was sending his wife Savannah, who is way more fashionable than LeBron is in these matters. And for sure, that worked out in favor of LeBron James, who couldn't stop fawning over his wife's looks at the event.

This year's Met Gala theme was “Tailored for You,” focusing on men's wear. Though it's unknown what LeBron would have worn to the event, it is assumed he would have definitely worn a matching outfit with his queen, Savannah James.

Why did LeBron James Skip Met Gala?

Met Gala is one of the most prestigious event in the fashion world and for fashion enthusiasts. However, LeBron James, who was scheduled to appear at the 2025 Met Gala event in New York, backed out from attending the event. He informed the same through his X handle, instead sending his wife Savannah James to attend on behalf of him.

James was ruled out after suffering an injury in Game 5 of the Los Angeles Lakers' first round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee. James suffered this injury after a collision with Donte DiVincenzo during a play. Though James still stayed up on the court and played, the Lakers lost the series against Timberwolves in five.
