Young Allrounder to Lead Pakistan in ICC Women's World Cup 2025

Fatima Sana to lead Pakistan Squad for ICC Women's World Cup 2025

The biggest headline around the Pakistan Women ODI World Cup Squad announcement is that the young all-rounder Fatima Sana will lead the side. The 23-year-old has been a key performer for the Pakistan Women’s cricket team in recent years and will now step into a new leadership role on the global stage.

Fatima Sana made her ODI debut in 2019 and has since grown into one of the most reliable all-rounders in the side. In her short career so far, she has scored valuable runs in the lower order and has been effective with the ball, especially in building pressure during the middle overs. Her ability to contribute to both departments makes her an essential addition to the team.

The PCB confirmed that the 15-membered Pakistan ODI World Cup 2025 squad will be led by Fatima Sana, with wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali named as her deputy. This will be the first time Fatima is leading the national side in a global tournament, marking an important milestone in her young career.

The Women’s National Selection Committee has named a 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 set to take place from 30 September to 2 November. The same squad will also feature in a three-match ODI series against South Africa, scheduled at the Gaddafi Stadium, one of the top cricket stadiums in Pakistan.

Non-traveling reserves: Gull Feroza, Najiha Alvi, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar

Six players - Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqa, and Syeda Aroob Shah - are set to feature in their maiden ODI World Cup. Along with this, two changes have been made to the 15-member squad that featured in the ICC Women’s CWC Qualifier. Eyman and Sadaf come into the squad in place of Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi, who have been named in the five-member non-travelling reserves alongside Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.
