On Wednesday, August 27, R Ashwin announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League. This came as a shock to the fans who were expecting to watch him in the next season as well. However, he decided to call time on his IPL career. One of the best spinners in the world, Ashwin, has been playing the tournament since 2009 and is one of the oldest players in the IPL as well.

The reports suggest that Ashwin has made himself available for the international leagues like BBL, SA20, and many more. This comes as excellent news for his fans who want to see him play in different leagues. With the SA20 auction about to happen next month, the fans might get to see Ashwin registering for it as well.

Ravichandran Ashwin has been a part of the IPL since 2009. He started his career with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and then moved to other franchises after 2015. However, last season he returned to CSK, but didn't get to play the entire season. While Ashwin is one of the best bowlers, last season he failed to impress with his performance, which is why he was being dropped from the team frequently.

In the IPL 2010, he picked up 13 wickets, but in 2011 he claimed 20 wickets in the tournament.
