What does Stuart Broad's FPL Team Look Like?

Former English cricketer Stuart Broad is a popular Fantasy Premier League fan. The new FPL season, FPL 2025/26, just started on Friday night, and just like other FPL managers, Broad is excited and thrilled for the new FPL season. The fourth leading wicket-taker as a pacer in international cricket history seemed busy selecting his first FPL team of the new season, where he also tried to interact with his social media followers.

The opening gameweek of any Fantasy Premier League season is very special for every FPL manager. It is one of the toughest challenges to complete the 15-member FPL squad under the £100.0m budget and then set the playing XI for a gameweek. Unlike the other gameweeks of an FPL season, it is different for the managers.

Since the opening second of a new FPL season goes live, a manager is free to set a team with any number of changes until the deadline of the first gameweek. Due to this freedom, the Free Hit and Wildcard chips are always inactive for the first gameweek of an FPL season, while now an FPL manager can use any of the four chips twice in the 2025/26 season, the first set in the first half of the season and the second set for the second half of the season (no carry-forward rules applicable here).

FPL managers, who start early to build a team, mainly face many doubts and questions regarding their FPL team until the Gameweek 1 deadline. It is not always fun, as some managers get frustrated due to making continuous changes, and sometimes they are hardly satisfied even with the multiple changes. There are many reasons for multiple changes, and some of the key reasons are new exciting signings, players’ uncertainty or leaving the club, fitness issues, doubtful form, etc.

Stuart Broad has proved himself just like the other regular FPL managers. While the FPL 2025/26 Gameweek 1 deadline was less than 24 hours away, Stuart Broad shared his FPL team for the new season on Instagram stories, also welcoming feedback.

However, the former English cricketer wasn’t satisfied with his FPL team. He made two changes in his FPL team, as Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams replaced playing XI defender Ola Aina, and West Ham United’s Diouf replaced Wan-Bissaka in the substitutes.

Broad also asked his followers whether he should bring Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as a replacement for Reijnders. As Broad asked followers for feedback, he was ready to change as many as 1000 times.

Stuart Broad has already achieved an FPL feat, which is a dream for everyone. During the 2017/18 season, he won the Manager of the Week prize in Gameweek 37, which was a double gameweek, and his FPL team scored 180 points to achieve the no.1 spot while using the Bench Boost chip.

That Stuart Broad’s FPL team achieved huge points thanks to the captain Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored 46 points as the captain, and seven more double-digit scores.

Before the final match of that gameweek, Broad was excited to sit at no.1 with the score 169, which was also his highest score in Test cricket as well as in first-class cricket. After that match, West Ham United's goalkeeper Adrián added 11 more points to stretch the tally further.

In that time, Broad was fighting against close to six million FPL managers. Later, Nottingham Forest’s passionate fan called that achievement, being no.1 in an FPL gameweek, one of his top three career highlights.
