VALORANT Patch 11.04 Update

Summary

  • Valorant Patch 11.04 brings major agent buffs for Chamber, Sage, and Sova alongside visual and gameplay system improvements.
  • Map rotation sees Abyss returning and Icebox removed, while a Manila server launches to enhance APAC connectivity.
  • Esports store gifting, bug fixes, and UE5-related display resets round out this update’s quality-of-life changes.

The Valorant Patch 11.04 update is coming this week, and there are changes you will see immediately, and you may not until you get into your 3rd game. Riot has been very busy in the background optimizing gameplay, smoothing potential bumps and scrapes from the game, and polishing the edges that give matches that little extra gloss that turns a match from good to comforting/familiar.

Whether you are looking for changes to agent abilities, new visual queues, or visuals/audiovisuals that do not hurt your ears, there is some concerted work that will affect every VALORANT player. Competitive players will witness changes that will eliminate the need to revert mid-strategy, while casual players will get a feel for the overall smoothing out, not really a change, perhaps an improvement that still maintains intent. And the changes to the map rotations and any agent buff? Do not worry, you will definitely get great enjoyment from the juiciest part, as the major surprises are still to come, which will show up in their own patch notes.

VALORANT Patch 11.04 Update

Agent Updates

Chamber

Trademark - The range limit on Chamber's Trademark ability has been removed, allowing for greater range and more strategic/methodical placement! This buff was initially supposed to be part of the Valorant Patch 11.04 update, but the range change was more of an oversight in Patch 11.02

Sage

Barrier Orb - Sage's Barrier Orb now has a cast range of 15m, up from 10m. This will allow for more effective space control and placement that can be done from a distance.

Resurrection - Sage's Resurrection ability can now occur up to 12m away from her position, up from the previous 6m. This helps increase Sage's ability to revive teammates while staying at a distance

Sova

Hunter's Fury - Visual effects around Sova's Hunter's Fury ability have been adjusted to be resolved quicker, while taking up less space, which can enhance the quality of the gameplay/visuals.

Map Rotation

Abyss: The Abyss map has returned to the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, offering players a fresh environment to explore and master.

Icebox: In contrast, Icebox has been removed from the Competitive and Deathmatch queues, making way for new strategies and experiences.

Improvements to Gameplay Systems

Ping Sound: The sound for pings placed on the minimap was modified to sound less abrasive as well as sound better in general.

AOE Ult Indicator Colors: The colors of the Area of Effect (AOE) ultimate indicators have been changed so that they are easier to distinguish. Ally zones are now always teal, while enemy zones are always yellow. Ability icons should now only show up in the minimap zone if the ultimate is destructible.

Esports Store Update

Gifting Feature: The gifting feature for the esports store is now live. Players can purchase and send items from their favorite VCT teams to friends, supporting their teams and sharing the love.

Server Expansion

Manila Server: A new game server has been launched in Manila, Philippines, marking the sixth server available in the Asia Pacific shard. This addition aims to improve connectivity and the overall gaming experience for players in the region.

Bug Fixes

General: Fixed an issue where a concussed player's crosshair would stop swaying while debuffed if they quickly entered and exited a pilotable ability like Cypher's camera or Sova's drone.

Chamber: Resolved a bug where the minimap would still show the deactivation range of Chamber's Trademark while the ability was equipped.

KAY/O: Addressed a bug where KAY/O's Zero/Point revealed exact opponent locations with an audio cue.

Astra & Harbor: Fixed an issue where bullet tracers could be seen passing through Astra's Cosmic Divide and Harbor's Cove.

Phoenix & Tejo: Corrected a bug where the wrong voice line played during round-start when Phoenix and Tejo are both present.

Neon: Fixed a bug where Neon could skip her unequip delay by binding High Gear to multiple keys.

Split: Resolved an issue where Molotov abilities did not properly spread up stairs after hitting the ground.

Known Issues

Resolution and Display Settings- Players may notice a reset of resolution and display settings the very first time they play after patching to Unreal Engine 5. No fix is planned as it is an Update from UE5, not a change from our game. It is recommended that you set your settings back to your liking, after an update.

PC specific bug fixes

Competitive Updates: Fixed an issue where characters were cut off in some languages on the end-of-game screens.

Premier Updates: Fixed an issue where characters were cut off in some languages on the Awards tab.
