Antonela Roccuzzo’s relationship with Lionel Messi is one of the most renowned dynamics when it comes to footballers’ families. The two met when they were children and have been together since, going through all of life together.

Antonela Roccuzzo: Early Life & Introduction to Lionel Messi

Roccuzzo was born in Rosario, Argentina in 1988 and grew up in the town. She met Lionel Messi via her cousin Lucas Scaglia in 2007, and the pair reportedly started seeing each other in 2009.

Antonela studied dentistry as her major at the National University of Rosario, before changing it to social communication, which she later dropped out of. Currently, she is the brand ambassador of UNICEF as well as the Special Olympics.

She is also known for modelling for various brands including Adidas, which sponsors Lionel Messi, Alo Yoga and also Stella McCartney.

Antonela Roccuzzo Ex-boyfriend

Lionel Messi and Antonela met via her cousin Lucas, but Lionel had to travel to Barcelona shortly after to further his football career with the Catalans. During this time, Antonela and him were not in touch and she was seeing someone else.

Later, Antonela split with that guy, who famously joked that “she dumped him for Messi and not an old guy”, once Messi was back from Barcelona.

Marriage with Lionel Messi

Antonella Roccuzzo and Lionel Messi tied the knot in 2017 as the city of Rosario hosted the event in a luxury hotel in grand fashion. Several football stars past and present were at the event, as well as some celebrities from outside the sport.

Former Barcelona teammates including Neymar Junior, Gerard Pique, and his former wife Shakira, as well as Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero, were among the notable guests at the event.

Antonela and Lionel Messi have three sons together – Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.

Social Life and Public Appearances

With Lionel Messi currently signed up with Inter Miami, the pair moved home base from Paris to the Florida city in 2023, following Messi’s contract termination with PSG. Since then, the couple have often been spotted in public with Miami owner David Beckham and his wife Victoria.

Antonela is a passionate football fan as well and is often seen on the touchlines with her three sons, cheering Lionel Messi on whether he is playing for Miami or Argentina.

The entire family was present during the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Messi created history by leading his team to glory.
