South Africa Tour of Australia 2025: Check Schedule, Venues & Other Details

South Africa will tour Australia for a white-ball series set to be played during August 2025. The CSA have announced their squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia. The tour will include three T20Is and three ODIs and will begin from August 10 and end on August 24.
The announcement was made by South Africa’s head coach Shukri Conrad. He confirmed that the team will travel with full-strength ODI and T20I squads. The AUS vs SA 2025 venues are Darwin, Cairns, and Mackay, which are probably not the first-choice cricket venues in the country.

AUS vs SA 2025 Schedule

South Africa tour of Australia 2025 will begin with a three-match T20I series. The T20Is will be played on August 10, 12, and 16. The first match of the tour will take place in Darwin. The next two matches will be held in Cairns. The AUS vs SA 2025 schedule is very tight with all the matches set to be played in two weeks.
After the T20Is, the ODI series will begin. The first ODI will be played on August 19 in Cairns. The second and third ODIs will be played in Mackay on August 22 and 24, respectively. This tour is part of South Africa’s preparations for two big tournaments the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

Senior Players Back in the Team

South Africa will be led by Aiden Markram in T20Is and Temba Bavuma in ODIs. Both players are returning after a break following the ICC World Test Championship Final. Other senior players like Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Kagiso Rabada are also back. They had missed the recent series but are now available for both formats.
The squads also include some fresh faces. Prenelan Subrayen, who recently made his Test debut against Zimbabwe, has been picked in both squads. Lhuan-dré Pretorius has earned his first ODI call-up. He has also been named in the T20I squad. Another exciting inclusion is Dewald Brevis, who has been selected for both the T20I and ODI squads.
Other players named in both squads are Corbin Bosch, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi, and Senuran Muthusamy. A surprise omission is Reeza Hendricks, who has not been picked in either squad.

For the Aussies, Travis Head and Josh Hazlewood are back in the mix for the white ball series. Matt Short and youngster Mitchell Owen are also included in both squads, and Owen is in contention to make his ODI debut in the series. The two stalwarts, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, are rested in this series before a busy home schedule at the end of this year.

Head coach Shukri Conrad said he was happy to have the senior players back in the squad. He said their experience would help South Africa build a strong team for the future. In a statement released by Cricket South Africa, he said,
“It’s great to have our senior players back in the mix after their rest following the WTC Final. Their experience and quality add real value to the group as we continue to build a strong core in both formats. Every series from here on plays a part in shaping our squads for next year’s T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup at home in 2027.”

The AUS vs SA 2025 squad consists of a mix of young and experienced players, and this series shall provide an enthralling cricketing experience to the fans over a schedule of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.
