Lars Granaas also made over 25 appearances for Norway at the youth level, but failed to get a call-up to the senior national team.

As Eirik grew up, Lars transitioned into a more coaching role and is currently the head coach of Norwegian side Mjondalen IF's reserve team. Eirik's older brother, Sondre Granaas, is also a professional footballer who plays for Molde FK.
