Canada and El Salvador locked horns in what promised to be a thrilling spectacle between two countries. This was the final matchweek of the group stage fixtures. A lot was in store for this game, as all four teams were mathematically still in contention to make it to the next round in the Gold Cup.

Canada secured four points, and even a defeat would have still taken them to the playoffs. However, the Maple Leafs were eager to finish the group stage fixtures as table toppers. He had a decent game tonight. However, his chemistry with Jonathan did not look very impressive as there was a lack of coordination between the two compatriots.

The LOSC Lille striker horribly failed to convert the penalty shot into the goal. However, he scored in the 53rd minute to bring Canada to the top.
