IPL 2025: Shubman Gill’s Controversial Run-Out against Sunrisers Hyderabad Leaves Fans Shocked

Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill was dismissed in a controversial runout during GT’s IPL 2025 match against SRH. Gill was declared run out as he was playing at 76 runs from just 38 balls. His innings was powered by 10 fours and 2 sixes. Notably, Gill was looking set for a big hundred before the drama unfolded.

Shubman Gill Fight With Umpire?

The incident happened when Zeeshan Ansari bowled to Jos Buttler during the last ball of the 13th over in the first innings of the match. Buttler got an inside edge to short fine leg. The fielder threw the ball quickly to the keeper’s end. Hyderabad's wicket keeper Heinrich Klaasen tried to deflect the throw onto the stumps.

There was a long review. The TV umpire, Michael Gough, checked if the ball or Klaasen’s glove broke the stumps. It was a very close call. The ball seemed to change direction after passing the stumps. In the end, the umpire ruled Gill out. Gill looked upset as he walked back to the dugout after having a verbal spat with the off-field umpire.
