Battle for Champions League Berth Heats Up Across Europe: Which Teams Could Benefit or Miss Out

There are certain UEFA Champions League regulars in danger of qualifying for the next season’s competition in Germany, France, England, Spain, and Italy.

Germany Could lose the Last extra Spot

It is Germany who could lose the last extra UEFA Champions League slot after Italy won the first and England suffered some serious losses last week when Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and West Ham United were all eliminated from Europe.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, two UCL semifinalists from the Bundesliga, along with the newly crowned Bayer Leverkusen, are representing Germany in the UEFA Europa League.

Not with standing that extra spot, there was always going to be fierce competition for the Champions League’s new format as it moved to the “Swiss” model, and some well-known players ran the risk of losing out.

Premier League

In England, the likelihood of a fifth Champions League spot appears increasingly slim after setbacks for Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and West Ham United in European competitions.

Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are among the big names at risk of missing out, with the latter currently holding a favourable position to secure European football next season.

La Liga

In Spain, Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, and Real Sociedad face uncertainty in their Champions League aspirations. While Athletic Club and Real Sociedad have performed admirably, Atletico Madrid’s unexpected exit from the quarterfinals puts them in a precarious position.

Serie A

Italy celebrates the allocation of an extra Champions League spot, reflecting the country’s impressive performances in European competitions. Roma, Atalanta, and Fiorentina lead the charge, with Lazio and Napoli facing challenges in their quest for Champions League qualification.

Bundesliga

Germany boasts a strong case for the second additional Champions League berth, with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayer Leverkusen making significant strides in European competitions. VfB Stuttgart, RB Leipzig, and Borussia Dortmund are among the contenders vying for Champions League football next season.

Ligue 1

Despite improvements in European performances, France’s chances of securing an extra Champions League spot remain uncertain.

Stade Brestois 29’s unexpected presence in the top spots adds intrigue to the league’s race for European football, with several clubs in contention for Champions League qualification.

As the season draws to a close, the battle for Champions League berths intensifies, promising thrilling encounters and unexpected twists in the coming weeks.
