Fallen CS retirement

Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo has shaken the Farmasi Arena stage in Rio de Janeiro and for good reason. The Professor announced that he will be retiring from professional Counter-Strike at the end of 2026. This puts an end to a career that spanned over two decades. In this article, we will discuss everything you need to know about the Fallen CS retirement announcement.

Fallen CS Retirement Announcement

"It's 247 more days," he said on stage, as per HLTV. “I've decided that at the end of the year, I'm going to do other things within CS with you all…I’d like to say a huge thank you to my family — many of them are here today — and to my wife, Leticia, for their unconditional support over the last 23 years," a teary-eyed FalleN said. "I’d also like to say a huge thank you to my teammates. I’m going to miss you all very much in the future," he concluded.

Who is FalleN?

FalleN is easily one of the most recognisable faces in all of Counter-Strike 2. A hero to some and the elder one to many, the 34-year-old Brazilian sniper inspired a whole generation of AWPers. His impact in CS is second to none. Even other GOAT contenders like Nicolai ‘Dev1ce’ Reedtz have mentioned publicly how FalleN's demos helped them master the Big Green in Tier-1 Counter-Strike. In his career, FalleN won 16 notable trophies while being awarded the MVP medal on four occasions.

Aside from his lethal AWPing skills, FalleN established himself as one of the game's biggest IGLs. He was a leader on the server, guiding his team to glory on several occasions. As he prepares to hang up his mouse, FalleN leaves behind a legacy like no other. The CS2 FalleN retirement has certainly caught several fans off-guard.

Detailed Look at FalleN's Career

FalleN had established himself as one of the world's most feared AWPers during the SK/Luminosity Gaming eras. World's beloved ‘The Professor’ spearheaded one of the game's most memorable line-ups to consecutive major championships, MLG Columbus 2016 and ESL One Cologne 2016.

FalleN later re-invented himself in a new role at Furia CS, where he led a team of Brazilian youngsters and an AWP prodigy named Danil ‘Molodoy’ Golubenko. The 34-year-old sacrificed his position as the star AWP player, a move that brought a fair amount of success at Furia recently. He won the Thunderpick World Championship 2025, IEM Chengdu 2025, and the BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 with this new line-up. While most players believed they had seen the best of FalleN, The Professor felt otherwise, and he showcased why.

In his decades-long career, FalleN finished in the HLTV Top 20 list twice, in 2016 and 2017. He has earned $1,459,346 in prize money throughout his illustrious career. The Professor also helped put Brazil on the map in Tier-1 Counter-Strike, defining a generation, and now, with his retirement announcement, ending an era.

Editor's Note on Fallen CS2 Retirement:

FalleN is one of the players that I grew up watching and admiring. At a time when teams struggled with consistency, The Professor and his men established the ‘Golden Era’ in all of CS: no controversies, no hatred, just sheer class. Gabriel Toledo, you have blown my mind (pun intended) and redefined the game, helping it evolve into what it is today.
