If you're familiar with HoyoVerse, you should be aware of their latest video game, Zenless Zone Zero. Released first in July 2024, this game has quickly become popular in the gacha RPG genre of video gaming. Much like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, Zenless Zone Zero is also an action role-playing game with a very attractive graphics system and a deep storyline to keep their users interested in the open world. The surround sound and deep narration give new life to the characters.

However, the game is different from that of Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves. Zenless Zone Zero, or ZZZ, is more of a modern punk mixed with fantasy, where the creatures of fantasy meet the modernity of the world and characters. This is different from the high fantasy setup or Genshin Impact or the gothic dark setting of Wuthering Waves. Zenless Zone Zero Overview

Zenless Zone Zero is a modern post-apocalyptic game set in the urban city of New Eridu, where the last of humanity survives. The main Protagonist called Proxy's job will be called to discover the truths about the Eridu and discover what lies behind the Hollows, a mysterious dark structure shaped like a cave and made for combat. The Hollows are also the home of “Eternals”, monsters that lie in the dark, ready to attack you. This exciting game with secrets and mysteries is a fun game to play with the latest mechanics and superb graphics for their users.

Zenless Zone Zero Factions

The ZZZ factions are a group of frontline fighters that are generally guided by Proxies into the Hollow to extract resources. According to the latest release, there are eight playable factions in the game. These are:

The Cunning Hares(Gentle House)

They are an independent faction made of mercenaries that takes odd jobs around the New Eridu. They charge high fees and rely on their cunning ways to get the Job done. The main agents consist of the founder, Nicole Demara, and members Anby Demara, Nekomiya Mana, and Billy Kid.

Belobog Heavy Industries

This Faction is known for its special machinery work in the Hollows. Founded by Koleda, they have completed complex industrial projects in extreme environments, making them a popular choice in the faction. The agents consist of Koleda Belobog, Grace Howard, Ben Bigger, and Anton Ivanov.

Sons Of Claydon

Led by the infamous Caesar King, Sons of Claydon is a famous Biker Gang Faction that works in the outer ring of Eridu. They have five other members, namely, Piper Wheel, Lucy, Burnice White, Lighter, and Pulchra.

Mockingbird

Mockingbird is a mysterious phantom faction of Hugo and Vivian as an agent that acts as a thief in the game.

Victoria Housekeeping Co.

Victoria Housekeeping is an affiliated faction in Zenless Zone Zero that works as a housekeeping company for homes and Hollows. When in need of combat, they will destroy the monsters in Hollows for your convenience. They have Alexandrina Sebastiane, Ellen Joe, Corin Wickes, and Von Lycaon as the main agents.

Criminal Investigation Special Response Team

This new Faction is a part of the New Eridu's Public Security. This team, led by Zhu Yuan, consists of Qingyi, Seth, and Jane.

Hollow Special Operations Section 6

The Hollow Special Operations is a special force in the New Eridu's government, especially made for eradicating the eternals from the hollows. Section 6 of this operation is the most popular and dangerous faction made up of Hoshimi Miyabi, Soukaku, Harumasa, and Yanagi.

Other Factions

There are many more small factions, such as Stars of Lyra, Obol Squad, and many more, with important roles to play that you can get to know more while playing the game.

Zenless Zone Zero W-Engines

The W-engines are special weapons associated with every agent that can also be described as their signature weapon to be identified with. An agent can only carry one W-engine. They can be upgraded and modified according to the game and increased stats. These combat-specific weapons also have rarities ranging from 5 to 3 stars, with five being the rarest and hardest to obtain. The combat-specific weapons can be classified into:

• Attack: This category contains Hellfire gears, Steel cushions, and other weapons that are designed to deal with damage that is consistent.
• Stun: These are barrier-breaking weapons like Weeping Cradle and Big Cylinder that allow you to destroy the enemies' protective boundaries.
• Defense: This contains high shielding weapons like The Restrained or Big Iron Heart, made for absorbing hard hits and protecting the agents.
• Anomaly: These weapons are best for sneak attacks like burning, freezing, and shock effects. The main weapons are Rusty Battery Pack and Demara Battery Mark II.
• Support: These are not particularly weapons but healing engines that can work as a medic for you. For example, the weeping spirit or the old recorder.

Zenless Zone Zero Story & Quests

The Zenless Zone Zero has multiple side quests and a main storyline. The main protagonist, Proxy, can be male, named Wise, or female, named Belle, depending on your choice. Here is how all the quests line up:

The Journey Or “Inter-knot”

The Journey is the main storyline of the game that contains different quests for the proxies to complete. Once you complete these chapters, you get to unlock the new ones and get rewards for them. You can go on a narrative journey, diving into the Hollows and discovering new secrets about what lies behind the darkness.

Side Quests or Factions

The Factions are side stories containing different storylines and character developments. These contain the story of Victoria Housekeeping, Mockingbird, and many other unique storylines that go on their adventure.

Daily Quests

These contain the daily tasks and quests given to users and gamers to complete to get daily rewards.

City Exploration

This mode lets you explore the New Eridu, the only human habitat in the world. This remains outside the combat zone, where you'll have to explore the city, help people, and get new rewards for doing so.

Zenless Zone Zero Currencies

There are six main currencies of Zenless Zone Zero:

• Mastered Tape: This currency is the main currency that is used in the Gacha System to pull. There are two types: Mastered Tapes for Standard gacha pulls and encrypted Mastered Tapes for special gacha pulls. You can buy these from Polychrome or in certain gameplays.
• PolyChrome: This is the special premium currency of Eridu. You can use them to buy gacha pulls for new weapons, characters, and rare materials. These are obtained by completing special missions, quests, and limited offer events.
• Dennis: This is the most common currency of New Eridu, which is used to bargain with the agents, upgrades, and levelling W-engines.
• Battery Charge: These are limited regenerative currency that should be used carefully over time since you can't buy them elsewhere and they take time to regenerate. These are called stamina currency since you have to take them to enter the resources stage.
• Bangbucks: This is a secondary currency that you can use to exchange upgraded items and drive discs, etc. You can get them by completing daily missions and quests.
• Boopons: This is a pet currency used in the Gacha System to pull Bangboos. They are robotic pets that can give passive buffs.
