Wuthering Waves is an action-based role-playing game with an open world where you can explore the world's depths after the destruction caused by “the lament.” This game is of a similar genre to Genshin Impact, although with a much detailed storyline and a lot darker tones. The main protagonist, “Rover,” is a multi-attributed protagonist with the ability to adapt to different resonator skills. The resonator is a character with one special skill in the game that can be upgraded throughout the game. As the game progresses, you must collect different resonators to make a strong team to fight the enemies.

Wuthering Waves' characters list is made up of the main protagonist, resonators, and NPCs. As of now there are 97 resonators in the game with four new ones to be added in the latest update.

• Rover: Rover is the name of the main protagonist of the game. They can be both male or female, based on the user's preference. This character is a dark-haired and mostly silent person with multiple attributes.
• Resonators: Resonators are the team characters that can be earned through unlocking different levels and achieving different challenges. Resonators are of three kinds: Natural, mutant, and Congenial. These different resonators have six different attributes, like electro, glacio, spectro, aero, havo, fusion, etc.
• Spectro Resonators: These resonators cause light-based damage. they are versatile and strong to compete for general DPS. Some of the famous spectro resonators are Yinlin and Yangyang.
• Havor Resonators: These characters can cause some very high damage to the opponents and have destructive abilities. One of the popular Havoc resonators is Jinhsi and Calcharo.
• Glacio Resonators: The glacio resonators have the superpower of freezing or slowing their enemies. They are an excellent tool for crowd control. Lingyang Baizhi and Sanhua are some of the remarkable glacio resonators.
• Electro Resonators: These resonators use shock effects and fast-paced attacks to do damage to opponents. some of the popular resonators are Yuanwo, Aalto, and Encore.
• Fusion Resonators: These characters have strong AoE potential to cause damage. They mostly cause burns to their opponents. The popular fusion resonators are Jiyan, Danjin, and Taoqi.
• Aero Resonators: These resonators' super attribute is using the wind to their benefit. They can group the enemies and have high-range mobility to start the attacks. some of the famous resonators are Verina, Chixia, and Jianxin.

Wuthering Waves Weapons

There are five different types of weapons in Wuthering Waves. These can be classified into swords, Broadblades, gauntlets, pistols, and rectifiers.

• Swords: These are balanced weapons that are generally used in different melee. These will use metallic Drips and Howler Cores to ascend.
• Broadblade: These are the heavier versions of swords that could be handled with only two hands. You can ascend your broadblade by using Whisperin Cores and Waveworn Residue.
• Gauntlets: These are weapons meant to be worn on the fists and provide extra punch and power in their strikes. You can ascend a gauntlet by using Cadence Flowers and Exile Rings.
• Pistols: These are firing weapons and use Phlogistons and Exile Rings to ascend into the next level.
• Rectifier: This is a magical weapon that deals with the long-range attacks. You will have to use Tempo Helixes and Exile Rings to ascend your rectifiers.

Wuthering Waves Echo System

The Echoes are the remaining distorted reverbation effect of the enemies you've defeated in the open world. These echoes, while gone in physical presence, still have the active skills of the presence they had before defeat. They can be collected and used to boost your HP, XP, and various other stats. Echoes also have rarities, rated from one star to five stars. If you collect an echo, you can summon its skills in the battle. You have to defeat the rare creatures to have stronger echoes.

Like resonators, the echoes also have specific attributes. Therefore, it is advisable to use the echoes mostly compatible with your specific resonator to give a much smoother boost than random pairings. For example, a Havoc echo will be most compatible with a Havoc resonator. If you defeat a strong boss, you'll have a very strong and rare echo to help in battles. Some of the popular echoes are Thundering Mephis, Feilian Beringal, Impermanence Heron, Inferno Rider, Lampylumen Myriad, etc.

• 3 Star Echo: Blue, Max Level 15, Max Sub Stats 3
• 4 Star Echo: Purple, Max Level 20, Max Sub Stats 4

Wuthering Waves Currency

There are various currencies involved in the Wuthering Waves game. The important ones are:

• Shell Credits: These are the universal standard currency of the game, used to purchase everything and anything in the open world.
• Astrite: This is the main premium currency of the game that is used to buy tides. This is one of the most important currencies to have to play in this gacha system.
• Lunite: This is another premium currency that you can buy in the game shop. While you can obtain Astrite by completing activities, there is no free way to buy Lunite.
• Lustrous Tides: This is one of the currencies you can use for the beginner's tide session or standard pull in the gacha system.
• Radiant Tides: This is a slightly better currency than Lustrous Tides. These are used in the limited-time banner under the Character event convene.
• Forging Tides: Forging tides are used in the weapon event convene to pull weapons from the gacha system. This is also a time-limited event.
• Afterglow Corals: These corals can be used to get some of the rare items at the shop. You can also use them to have some extra pulls if you've not spent on the exchange section of the shop.
• Oscillate Corals: These have their own section in the group, although their value is weaker; therefore, they have less valuable pulls and can only roll out 3-star weapons.
• Data Sets: These become available only after completing the calamity challenge in the game. Once that happens, they become available in the shop. They can help with the simulation training in the game.
• Hazard Records: These are earned in Tower of Adversity. You can use them to buy Advanced Resonance Potions, Advanced Energy Cores, Advanced Sealed Tubes, etc. But, they are limited monthly.
• Wood-textured Shards: These can be used only in Ganxue's Souvenir Shop in Jianzhou, where you can buy different items like Lustrous Tides, Recipes, Premium Tuners, etc.
• Waveplates: Waveplates are regenerative currency, although they take time. Therefore, you have to take your time with this currency; otherwise, they'll empty before they can regenerate.
