FC 26 Title Update Version 1.4.0 Announced: All You Need To Know

The recent FC 26 update brings in a couple of fresh tweaks in multiple facets of the game. Following the consistent news on Time Wrap, EA brought a fresh set of changes with the FC 26 Title Update Version 1.4.0 announced earlier today.

From Career Mode tweaks to changes in AI defending, a lot was on the agenda of the title update. In this post, we will take a look at everything we know from the FC 26 Title Update v1.4.0.

FC 26 Title Update Version 1.4.0 Announced

Ever since the FC 26 Time Wrap 1 Predictions were announced, the community has been buzzing with excitement. With the FC 26 Title Update Version 1.4.0 announced, EA has finally addressed major concerns around gameplay, graphics, fidelity and more.

@EASFCDirect took it to their official X to share the FC 26 1.4.0 update live with the community. The post was made on 5th January 2026, around 9:30 PM. Given how this addresses the FUT, Career Mode, and AI Defending changes, the community is excited to see how refined these things are after the update is live.

FC 26 Title Update v1.4.0: The Changes

As mentioned earlier, there are multiple changes in the EA FC 26 Title Update v1.4.0. From Gameplay to AI defending, here are all the changes announced:

AI Defending

• The reaction time for AI defenders to mark the ball carriers has been reduced.
• There will be more space during the transition between actions now, as EA wants to make attacks more free-flowing while dealing with AI defenders.

Gameplay

• EA has ensured that CPU will now adopt a more proactive approach to provide a better experience on Squad Battles. It will not concentrate on having possession as much as it used to.
• The threshold for minimum and maximum heights has been refined to determine the run types for different players. The minimum height requirement for men will now be 185 cm, while for women, it will be 165 cm.
• After the update, defenders who are positioned at the goal line can clear out dangers with headers and shot clearances. This is something that the community has long requested when facing set pieces.
• The shoulder challenge and ball guarding have been made realistic, allowing larger build players to get the best out of smaller build players during such occasions.
• Lastly, the precision of acrobatic shots has been reduced.

FUT

• A new Release Hub will arrive, where players can explore fresh campaigns. This can be accessed through the new menu tab or the News tile to see and navigate through the content.
• The trophy display error has been fixed.
• The issue with the Evolution consumable item is also fixed, along with the UI flow error that saw the radial menu appearing randomly.

Career Mode

• In Career mode, the contract durations have been increased up to 3 years for Heroes and Icons.
• For specific situations, the Manager Career Job Security is also adjusted.
• Depending on the player's career, some archetype options are no longer eligible.
• Moreover, Starting Skill Level is now replaced with Starting AP in the Player Career.
• We will see an expansion of player status information, including info on their willingness to negotiate and the potential.
• In addition to these, multiple issues were addressed in Clubs, such as the incorrect acceleration types set and the team management screen display error.
• Moreover, the refresh rate of PC and framerate issues have also been fixed in the EA FC 26 Title Update v1.4.0.
