EA has decided to terminate the services of FC Tactical even before the game could see a global launch. FC Tactical was last released regionally, two years ago, in May 2024. The turn-based simulation game was only available in 7 regions. These were Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. The game never took off, and kind of got lost amongst other popular EA titles: FC 26 and FC Mobile.

FC Tactical Shutting Down

The game took to its official X handle to announce the saddening news to the community. On February 6, 2026, at 7 AM UTC, @tactical_ea announced that the game is going to go offline in a span of 3 months.

The tweet revealed that all the in-game purchases have been halted in the game starting today. The game is also no longer available on either the Play Store or the App Store for further downloads. The current players who have FC Tactical downloaded on their devices can still play the game before it goes dead on May 7, 2026.

EA thanked the FC Tactical community for their support and also asked the players to switch to one of their other titles: FC Mobile and FC 26.

FC Tactical Soft Launch Fallout

FC Tactical's fallout seemed inevitable. The game didn't receive a global release since its regional launch in 2024. The first early access of the game was tested as Tactical Football in May 2022. The pre-registrations began in 2023, and they received a good response back then.

As the name suggests, it was a turn-based tactical game that required you to build a squad, make decisions in matches and confront other players in online PvP mode. Basically, you managed a team and tried to win trophies while unlocking new skills in the process.

The game featured more than 5000 licensed players from the biggest football leagues like the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A. It was available on both Android and iOS platforms.

FC Tactical failed to put fresh content on the platter as their database remained stuck in the 2023-24 season. As EA's focus shifted to more player-centric titles, FC Tactical, which was more manager-centric, faded not only in the community but also on the priority list of the makers.
