eFootball Next Update: Release Date, New Features, and Patch Details

eFootball will be releasing its next update pretty soon. A ton of new features will be introduced in the game following the new update. This will also be the first update in the game in 2026, and hence it feels all the more special since many new additions are expected. We have given the complete details of all things you are going to get following the next eFootball update. This update is going to focus on the content side of things in the game. Having said that, some minor bug fixes are also expected and are on the cards.

When is the next eFootball update?

As per the official notice, the next eFootball update has been scheduled for Thursday, January 8, 2025. Konami took to its official website to announce the new update dates and schedule. Konami shared the new eFootball update information on January 6, 2026. With only a day left at the conclusion of this season, it's in your best interest that you complete all the in-game objectives and use your expiring nominating contract tickets, since they won't be available to claim or use post January 7, 2026.

What will be in the next eFootball Update?

The patch (v5.2.2) update is going to bring in some old classic events into eFootball. The first of them is the treasure link. The eFootball treasure link will bring in a hoard of free rewards, and if you are a free-to-play user, this event is for you. The eFootball treasure link will give you free eFootball coins, cards, position tokens, and skills tokens. In addition, you will also get some free chance deals in an exclusive treasure link pack.

On Thursday, once the game re-opens, you will also get your free Highlight-Showtime Tonali if you rank in the top 10,00,000 ranking in the PvP eFootball league. If you finish beyond the set mark, you may receive a highlight card. Some new nominating contract packs will also become available in the game. So if you have any cards to claim from the current Nominating selections, get them by January 7, 2025. You should also keep track of the expiry time of some of your nominating contract tickets and use them if they are about to expire.

In addition to all these, there will be the usual POTW selection packs and some Epic packs, and some new in-game events, which will have an expiration time of a week.

The eFootball patch updates generally arrive once every month. In eFootball, there are 3 kinds of updates:

• Version Updates: These are big in-game updates that bring new in-game content. This generally arrives on season reset or while introducing major events like AFCON and AFC Cups into the game.
• Patch Updates: Patch updates are minor updates that simply change the nominating contract selection pack and return some former events like Treasure Link, eFootball Arena, and more.
• Weekly Updates: These are weekly updates, which see the arrival of new POTW and European Club Championship packs. This update also changes the live ratings of the cards in the game, which affects their in-game performance.

How often do eFootball updates come?

The tenure of the eFootball maintenance depends on the type of update in question. Different types of eFootball updates have distinctive timings. You can check the details of it below:

• Version Update: This update comes once every year, particularly during the season reset.
• Patch Update: This update comes every once in or twice every month. It may also arrive once in a few weeks if it's a minor patch update.
• Weekly Update: This update arrives once every seven days. This is the most frequent update of the game.

When does the eFootball Season End?

The current eFootball season will end on January 7, 2026. Following this, all the division-specific events will be reset. That means you will have to begin a new journey in both vs AI and PvP eFootball division. If you are one of the division pushers, then this is your last chance to make it to division one this season.
