Best Picks From the eFootball Showtime National Stars Pack

We have elaborated on the best cards from the eFootball Showtime National Stars Pack and why you should add them to your dream team. Konami offering useful cards for free is a rarity so make use of one free chance you get wisely.

Mateo Kovacic

The Croatian baller, Mateo Kovacic, is by far eFootball Showtime National Stars best player. His Box-to-box play playing style complements his balanced offensive and defensive stats and skills. He can attack, defend, score and tackle endlessly with his high stamina.

His visionary pass skill can come in handy while building attacks. With some more skills like Blocker, double touch, and low lofted pass, this card can become the perfect all-rounder. With the new 90-rated manager, Thomas Tuchel, it can reach a 103 rating with 7 stats over 90.

Mikel Merino

The biggest positive of Merino's card is its versatility. You can play him anywhere as a CF, AMF, SS or even CMF. His balanced offensive and defensive stats will allow him to be dependable at all positions. We recommend playing him in an attacking role to make the best use of his 'Hole Player' playing style and 'Low Screamer' skill.

Merino can reach a rating of 102 under any of the managers, but we recommend the new Xabi Alonso. Play him as an AMF or SS so his mid-speed stats would not make a huge difference. Merino is tall, can win headers and is also very nimble with his dribbles. Just ensure to add the skills double touch, Sole Control and First Time Shot.

Gregor Kobel

Kobel is the most underrated card in the eFootball Showtime National Stars pack. He is one of the tallest goalkeepers at 195 cm. His 'offensive goalkeeping' attribute allows him to play as a sweeper at the back, which means he will come out of the box to defend.

Kobel's all goalkeeping stats can reach over 90, and with the Manager Ronaldo Koeman, you can scale his jumping to 88. He also comes equipped with essential skills like low punt and spirit roar, perfect pick if you don't have a good keeper.

Honourable Mentions

  • Christian Romero: Romero's defending stats are pretty mid with only aggression reaching over 100 under all managers. He is fast and has the stamina, but falls short in terms of physicality. His 'Aerial Fort' skill is not a complete guarantee to win headers due to his relatively mid-height (185 cm). Also, he could have better functioned as a Build-up than a destroyer.
  • Noni Madueke: This card is all about finding space at the wings and sprinting to the opposition goal. It is fast and nimble but has very poor finishing. Its poor physicality may also make it difficult to use him against stronger cards like Zanzetti, Costacurta and more. The Acceleration burst skill feels cosmetic for a card with mid-level stamina.
  • Alexaner Sorloth: Sorloth is just made for cross-spammers. He is tall, strong and can jump and win aerial duels and use his 'Bullet header' skill to score. He feels like a light version of Jan Koller with even worse ball-playing, passing stats and skills.
  • Memphis Depay: Depay's 'Deep Lying Forward' playstyle just doesn't fit this meta. His mid-level stats on speed and stamina also don't allow him to make timely runs in the box. He is fine with the ball, but just the Phenomenal finishing skill is not enough to carry a card. This is the card to avoid from the eFootball Showtime National Stars Pack.
