Fantasy Premier League GW 28: Key Injury Updates and Team News

Only 11 rounds are left in the 2024/25 Premier League season, and with each passing matchday, the Premier League table is starting to reflect what its shape will be at the end of the season. Arsenal and Manchester United will contest one of the most fiercest rivalries on matchday 28, which could very well affect the league on both ends of the table. Here is a comprehensive analysis of the 20 Premier League clubs in light of the fitness and availability status.

Arsenal

Arsenal will take on historic and long-time rivals Manchester United on Sunday morning. The Gunners are fresh off a 7-1 thrashing of PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, with several players getting on the scoresheet. Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Takehiro Tomiyasu have all been a part of the injury list for a long time now. Havertz, Tomiyasu, and Jesus have been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while the remaining players are scheduled to return in the upcoming weeks.

Aston Villa

Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford have proven to be successful investments by Villa in the January transfer window. The success of the recent signings has eased the pain surrounding the absence of Amadou Onana, Donyell Malen, and Ross Barkley.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s fantastic record against the big names in the Premier League will certainly motivate the coach and the players to go for all three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Adam Smith, Julian Araujo, Marcos Senesi, and Enes Unal will not be a part of the mission owing to their respective injury woes. Illia Zabarnyi will also miss matchday 28 due to a suspension.

Brentford

Brentford will have to negate the threat of Aston Villa at home without the services of Aaron Hickey (hamstring injury), Gustavo Gomes (back injury), Thiago Rodrigues (virus), Joshua Dasilva (injured), Sepp van den Berg (knee injury), Christian Norgaard (knock), and Rico Henry (hamstring injury).

Brighton & Hove Albion

The Seagulls currently have one of the longest injury lists in English football. Coach Fabian Hurzeler will not be able to select Ferdi Kadioglu, Igor Julio, James Milner, Jason Steele, Joel Veltman, Tariq Lamptey, and Lewis Dunk ahead of matchday 28.

Chelsea

Chelsea’s results are not improving, and the London outfit has fallen off the pace completely. Enzo Maresca’s men are now in the fifth spot, barely staying in the European places. Gabriel Slonina, Benoit Badiashile, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia, David Datro Fofana, Marc Guiu, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madeuke will not be available on matchday 28.

Crystal Palace

A decent and a positive run of results lately has significantly improved Crystal Palace’s status in the table. Chadi Riad, Chieck Oumar Doucoure, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Will Hughes, and Joel Ward will not be able to contribute their services against Ipswich Town.

Everton

David Moyes will not be able to rely upon the services of Armando Broja (Leg Injury), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Hamstring Injury), Dwight McNeil (Knee Injury), Iliman Ndiaye (Knee Injury), Orel Mangala (Cruciate Ligament Injury), and Seamus Coleman (Muscle Cramps) on matchday 28.

Liverpool

Manchester City

Manchester City fans will be delighted with the news of Rodri slowly making his return to the pitch. The Ballon d’Or winner has started training individually and will target to return before the Club World Cup in June, which might provide the only opportunity for the club to lift a piece of silverware in what has otherwise been a disappointing campaign. Apart from the Spaniard, John Stones, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake, and Oscar Bobb will also have to sit out.

Manchester United

Danish youngster Patrick Dorgu was shown a red card against Ipswich Town last week and will consequently not play a part against Arsenal. Altay Bayindir, Amad Diallo, Jonny Evans, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, and Toby Collyer will not be able to participate due to their injury issues. Ruben Amorim will have his work cut out for him against one of the title contenders on Sunday.

Timo Werner and Heung-Min Son will be back after missing Spurs’ last game. The Europa League is the last shot left for Ange Postecoglou at a piece of silverware, so he might rotate his squad in light of the second leg against AZ Alkmaar next week.

West Ham

Crysencio Summerville, Lucas Paqueta, Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug, and Vladimir Coufal remain on the sidelines for the Hammers.

Wolves

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira will feel a sense of frustration in light of the recurring injury woes at the club. He will have to select his best XI without the services of Emmanuel Agbadou, Rodrigo Gomes, Enso Gonzalez, Sasa Kalajdzic, Leon Chiwome, and Yerson Mosquera. Key player Matheus Cunha, who has been the goalscoring force, will also not be able to contribute his services as he will serve a suspension.
