Aston Villa’s English striker Ollie Watkins has disappointed in the first three gameweeks of the Premier League 2025/26 season, as he has only produced six points, all from his appearances. While he hasn’t recorded any direct goal involvement this PL season yet, some managers like me are looking for a strong Ollie Watkins FPL replacement.

Ollie Watkins is one of the most consistent Premier League strikers over the last few seasons, as he scored 100+ FPL points in his five seasons. In the last three FPL seasons, the English striker generated 175, 228, and 186 FPL points, respectively.

Due to his strong, consistent calibre as a striker, Watkins started the new FPL season with a valuation of £9.0m, as the FPL managers have supported his valuation by selecting him as one of the favourite strikers. While he was once selected by more than 2.7 million managers, presently, he is still chosen by close to 17 per cent of managers.

The big question: Is it time for Ollie Watkins' FPL replacement?

Although Watkins is a consistent performer, he may sometimes struggle with his form. Also, it is the beginning of the season, so many players need some time to return to their original form. He still has enough time to outperform his previous FPL records, as he is still one of my favourite names after checking Sportsdunia's FPL Points Predictor.

While Ollie Watkins’ present FPL value is £8.9m, my suggestion is to transfer him out at present but keep him in the “Watchlist”. The English striker can find his form soon, as the managers will then be able to move their mindset on him to the positive side.

Ollie Watkins alternatives for Gameweek 4 in FPL 2025/26

Although Chelsea’s João Pedro (£7.7m), Liverpool's Hugo Ekitiké (£8.8m), and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison (£6.7m) are the top three in-form names under Ollie Watkins’ present FPL value, I am considering other top names, as the former three names are already top choices for the managers.

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest): £7.7m

The Nottingham Forest forward Chris Wood started the FPL 2025/26 season with two goals against Brentford and provided 13 FPL points. However, in the next two fixtures, he had no direct goal involvement. Wood is another consistent FPL forward name who can produce points consistently, as he generated 200 and 131 FPL points in the last two seasons and previously also recorded 130+ FPL points for three consecutive seasons (2018/19, 2019/20, and 2020/21). After facing Arsenal in the fourth gameweek, Forest will play against two promoted sides, Burnley and Sunderland, so that Wood can be one of the favourite choices as an Ollie Watkins FPL replacement.

Wilson Isidor (Sunderland): £5.5m

The Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor has scored two goals in the first three matches of the PL 2025/26 season. After scoring one goal against West Ham United in their season opener, he had no direct goal involvement against Burnley but scored another goal in their last game against Brentford. The French striker has already generated 14 FPL points, and while Sunderland will face Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in their next two fixtures, Isidor can be a good in-form choice under a low budget.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United): £7.8m

English forward Jarrod Bowen is now serving in the FPL as a forward, unlike as a midfielder in the previous seasons. After failing to make direct goal involvement in the first two gameweeks of the season, he scored a goal in West Ham United’s last game against Nottingham Forest and generated nine FPL points. Bowen is a consistent performer with 180+ FPL points in three out of the last four seasons, including the last two seasons. While Hammers will now face Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, and Everton, Bowen can once again prove himself as one of the best FPL choices.
