The tournament is expected to kick off on 1st April, 2026, and run until 18th April, 2026. The final draw for the tournament was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 10th November 2025. India have managed to qualify for the tournament after 20 long years, and they will play their first match of the tournament against Japan, who are the record champions of the event with six wins. They will then play against Australia, who finished third in 2024, followed by Chinese Taipei.

Teams were allocated to the respective pots of the final draw according to a point system based on the teams' final rankings in the previous three editions. Teams that played in the latest edition (2024) saw 100% of their ranking points considered, while the second-to-last and third-to-last editions saw 50% and 25% of the ranking points of the team considered, respectively.

The sides that finish in the top two places of their respective groups, along with the two best third-placed teams, will qualify for the quarterfinals. The semifinalists of the AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup will directly qualify for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Poland in 2026.
