Barcelona and Osasuna were supposed to face off tonight in the 27th round of La Liga fixtures but the match has now been cancelled. This is because someone close to the Barcelona team had passed away. The game has now been postponed to a later date.
Why was the Barcelona vs Osasuna game in La Liga today postponed?

Barca have been in fantastic form this season and currently sit at the top of La Liga’s standings. They are one point ahead of Atletico Madrid and two ahead of Real Madrid who could both overtake them for the time being if they win on Sunday.
This match will have to be rescheduled but finding a gap in Barca’s already packed schedule is going to be a challenge given the fact that they are already involved in the Champions League Round of 16 and Copa del Rey semifinals alongside La Liga commitments. Details about the exact date will be given later.
Why was the Barcelona game rescheduled?
The players had requested for the game to be postponed after news of Dr. Carles Miñarro Garcia, the first team doctor passing away came just minutes before the game was scheduled to start.
Dr. Garcia had been with the team for 8 years now and naturally, it has affected all those who were a part of the Barcelona dressing room. An official statement from the club said:
“FC Barcelona regrets to announce the sad news of the death of the first team doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia, this afternoon,” the statement began.
“Therefore, the match between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna is postponed until a new date.”
”The Board of Directors and all of the workers of FC Barcelona want to convey our most sincere condolences to family and friends, accompanying them in their feelings in these difficult times,” it concluded.”
