The third round of the Carabao Cup was full of twists and turns. From Swansea knocking out Nottingham Forest to Cardiff pulling yet another upset after defeating Burnley. Brentford and Man City drawn against EFL sides

Brentford will lock horns against Grimsby Town. After Thomas Frank's departure, Keith Andrews took over. They somehow made it to the next round after defeating Aston Villa in penalty shootouts. Grimsby, on the other hand made a big upset after knocking out Manchester United. They also defeated Sheffield Wednesday and another upset is very much possible for Grimsby.

Manchester City have been drawn against Swansea. Pep Guardiola's side are going through an underwhelming period and have made it to the next round after defeating Huddersfield 2-0. Swansea, on the other hand also pulled out an upset after defeating Ange Postecoglou's Nottingham.

Four London Clubs to play away games

Reigning UEL winners Tottenham Hotspur, FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea and FA Cup and FA Community Shield winners Crystal Palace will play three away games. Spurs will have a tough task at hand as they have been drawn against reigning Carabao Cup winners Newcastle United. Chelsea, on the other hand, will face Wolverhampton Wanderers, whereas the biggest clash will be between Liverpool and Crystal Palace.

The new foes in making, reigning Premier League champions Liverpool and Crystal Palace, have been involved in some high-octane games after the Eagles defeated the Reds in the FA Community Shield Finals. Crystal Palace won two domestic trophies last season, and the EFL Cup will definitely be on their radar. Fulham will also play against Wycombe in an away fixture.

Arsenal and Cardiff eye a big win

The North London side will lock horns against Brighton and Hove Albion. The Wrexham and Cardiff match will feature two teams from the lower flights, but they have shown exemplary resilience and courage to compete. Arsenal won the game against Port Vale 2-0, whereas Brighton won 6-0 against Barnsley. Cardiff defeated Burnley, whereas Wrexham defeated Reading.
