Barcelona will be looking to return to winning ways in Spain's top flight when they resume their 2025-26 La Liga campaign when they go up against Valencia in matchweek four of the season. The Catalan giants are fourth in the La Liga table with seven points, while Los Che are ninth with four points from the first three games.

This match was initially going to take place in the new Camp Nou stadium, but the date has again been pushed back. Barcelona will now play Valencia at Johan Cruyff Stadium, which only has a capacity of 6,000. This stadium is home to Barcelona's second team and women's team, and history will be created as Johan Cruyff Stadium will become the ground with the lowest capacity to host a La Liga game. The reigning champions won their opening two fixtures of the season against Mallorca and Levante, scoring six times, but they had to come back from two goals down to beat Levante. This was followed by a 1-1 draw with Rayo Vallecano, which has left them fourth in the table, two points behind the leaders, Real Madrid.

Valencia, meanwhile, opened their La Liga campaign with a 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad, before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Osasuna. They put in an excellent performance in their last match, where they beat Getafe 3-0, leaving them with four points from three matches. Los Che finished 12th last season, so there a room for improvement and a busy summer might turn things around for them. They have only managed to win 59 of their previous 230 matches against Barcelona in all competitions, and have lost each of their last four, conceding 18 times in the process. Valencia were beaten by Barcelona 7-1 in the corresponding game last season and have failed to beat Barcelona away from home since April 2016.
