Former Arsenal star Billy Vigar tragically passed away due to a gruesome injury that he sustained while playing a match for Chichester City. Vigar was part of Arsenal’s U-21 Setup last year before moving to Hastings United on a free transfer. He joined Chichester earlier this summer. In a game against Wingate & Finchley previous weekend, Billy Vigar suffered a head collision, hitting a concrete wall at the sidelines.

Billy Vigar Brain Injury: Club Update

The Chichester vs Wingate & Finchley match was stopped immediately after Vigar collapsed on the ground and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Chichester City confirmed his brain injury via a social media post and later announced his death. He was put in an induced coma after the incident.

“On Tuesday, he needed an operation to aid any chances of recovery. Although this helped, the injury proved too much for him and he passed away on Thursday (25th) morning,” Chichester City posted on social media after sharing updates on Billy Vigar injury.
