Charity matches have been quite the trend in modern football, where several celebrities from different walks of life participate in a game of football for a bigger cause.

These matches have garnered immense attention from across the world in the past, with some of them even making viewership numbers higher than an actual football game.

Fans are in for a treat once again as a charity fixture named ‘Game4Ricky’ is being held today, which will feature some of the renowned former football stars. So what exactly is the Game4Ricky game? Sportsdunia is here to tell you everything about the game, including the Game4Ricky schedule, venue, and date.

Stars United For Game4Ricky Charity Game In The UK

The Game4Ricky match is being played as a memorial for the late Ricky Hatton, who was a British boxing icon. He was also a devoted mental health advocate, who used to battle depression himself too at a point of time. However, he passed away last year.

Hatton was an out-and-out Manchester City fan, so in a way to honour his legacy, a charity game is to be played at the Joie Stadium, the home ground of the Manchester City women's football team. Moving on from the Game4Ricky venue, we would like to inform you that the Game4Ricky schedule also includes the players who will feature for the two sides.

The two teams are named Team Hatton and Team Hitman, with Campbell Hatton (son) and Matthew Hatton (brother) captaining the respective sides. Team Hatton includes the likes of former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart, actor Archie Renaux, Toni Duggan, Des Walker, Paulie Malignaggi, Jason Manford, and famous YouTuber Harry Pinero.

Team Hitman have named eight players so far: former England goalkeeper David James, William Gallas, Natasha Dowie, Joleon Lescott, Big Zuu, Johnny Nelson, and Jeff Brazier. This mix of former football stars and other athletes or TV personalities enhances the fun of seeing them communicate together on a football pitch, and having some good laughs at the end of the day is all that matters.

The Game4Ricky date is 15th September, 2026, and the game starts in 2:15 PM UK Time (6:45 PM IST) so make sure to not miss out on this one. The game will be streamed live on the My5 platform and Channels 5 TV channel, with the broadcast only restricted to the United Kingdom.
