How to Watch Uganda vs Niger

The 2025 African Nations Championship is up and running with its group stage fixtures. Co-hosts Uganda will welcome Niger to the Mandela National Stadium, Kampala in their third and penultimate group stage game. Uganda are placed second on the standing behind group leaders Algeria. The hosts have picked up three points from a win and a defeat in two opening games. They started their campaign with a 0-3 defeat to Algeria before picking up a 0-3 win against Guinea.

Reagan Mpande broke the deadlock in the 31st minute before Allan Okello scored from the 62nd minute from the spot. Ivan Ahimbisibwe put the game to bad with a third goal and guided his side to a comfortable win. The Cranes will be poised to get the maximum number of points from their remaining two fixtures to strengthen their credential for the knockouts. Paul Put's side will take motivation from the fact that their win over Guinea was their most successful result at CHAN.

Niger on the contrary find themselves in a very tricky situation. Their chance to stay alive in the competition is hanging by a thread and it's now a do-or-die situation. They have played just one game so far and ended up on the losing side which means they find themselves at the bottom of Group C. The Menas are the only team in their group who are yet to score a point having lost their opening encounter 0-1 against Guinea. Ezzaki Badou's side have not found the back of the net in the last 378 minutes of football that they have played.

In fact, they are also facing their longest winless streak in the competition and have a lot of work to do in order to keep their aspirations alive. One more defeat will put them at the verge of elimination while a win will help them keep their hopes alive. Things will only get tougher from here on as they will face South Africa and Algeria in their remaining two games post the match against Uganda. This will be the eighth meeting between the two sides. Both sides have won three games each while one match resulted in a stalemate.
