Just two months after the conclusion of the 2025 AFCON, the ball is rolling again for the 2027 AFCON.

Before the qualifiers begin, the 12 bottom-ranked countries are fighting it out for six spots in the qualifying pot. As the highest-ranked team in the pool (42nd), Lesotho drew against Seychelles, the lowest-ranked (53rd).
