Nigeria squad for AFCON 2025 Released, Victor Boniface MAJOR Omission

The Nigeria squad for AFCON 2025 has been announced, where several international players will be taking part in this important tournament to have a chance at ultimate glory. This trophy has long eluded the Super Eagles, as they last won this title in 2013. The Nigeria AFCON 2025 squad looks quite good on paper, with the likes of in-form Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman all set to feature in the tournament.

However, their defence remains an issue as most of the players are rather inexperienced. There was a bit of doubt regarding Stanley Nwabali's inclusion due to injury issues, but the goalkeeper has finally made it to the final 28-man list. Nevertheless, striker Victor Boniface has been one notable omission from the Nigeria squad for AFCON 2025.

Victor Boniface is not among the 28 Nigerian players who are set to give their all to win the AFCON 2025. The forward played an important role in the qualifiers for the Super Eagles, along with Tolulope Arokodare, who also missed out on the Nigeria squad for AFCON 2025.

Boniface has been going through a tough time at the club currently. On-loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen, he has managed just two assists and is yet to bag a goal for Werder Bremen this season. This might have forced Eric Chelle to take the tough decision to leave the player out of the Nigeria national football team for the upcoming tournament.
