Bolivia vs Uruguay Preview

  • Competition: World Cup Qualifiers
  • Date: Wednesday, 26 March
  • Kick-Off Time: 08:00 PM GMT
  • Venue: Municipal Stadium El Alto

The Bolivia vs Uruguay match will be played on Wednesday, 26 March at the Municipal Stadium El Alto. The seventh-placed team will host the fourth-placed team in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Bolivia's woeful form continued last week when they were beaten 3-1 by Peru away from home. They will be disappointed with their performance as they lost to a side who are below them in the points table. They have dropped points from winning positions and due to their poor defence, they have let people down.

Bolivia's record against Uruguay is not at all good and despite playing at home the pressure will be on them. In 13 games, they have won four matches, drawn one and lost eight games, with 13 points on the table they are sitting at the seventh spot and their chances of qualifying for the World Cup are slipping from their hands. They will have to give their best on the pitch to at least get a point at home.

The Uruguay National Team faced a setback at home as they lost to their arch-rival Argentina who are the current World Champions. Despite creating some good chances they failed to put the ball in the net which caused them to lose three points at home.

Playing at a high altitude will surely be difficult for Uruguay but they do have players who can make an impact on the pitch and help the team to get good results.

They need one or two wins to solidify their position in the table and then they will qualify for the World Cup. Despite performing well against Bolivia on multiple occasions they will have to be at their best to get a good result. This will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.

Miguel Terceros (Bolivia)

He graduated from the famous Santos academy and also played for the first team. He is currently playing for America Mineiro in the Brazilian Serie A, he also played for the youth teams of Bolivia. In just 20 years he has already played 19 games for the main team and has also scored five goals.

He is very fast and agile and can break defenses very easily with his direct style of play. Terceros is a fearless player who doesn't shy away from taking on players who are much more experienced and strong than him.

His attitude is the strongest point of his game. He is not a player with a lot of muscle mass and sometimes does get bullied on the pitch but he makes sure to give everything on the pitch for his team. In seven World Cup Qualifiers games he has scored five goals.

Federico Valverde (Uruguay)

Valverde is a player who is in red hot form and he will be disappointed with the last game result as Uruguay lost to the World Champions at home. Even though his role for Real Madrid and the National team is different still considering his quality he is a player who can make a difference on the pitch.

Valverde is a player who is also admired by his rivals, with his versatility he provides a lot of options to the coach so that the team can change their tactics accordingly.

With and without the ball Valverde knows his role clearly and doesn't make mistakes on the pitch at all. He has got the stamina of different levels as he can run throughout the match and he doesn't give up on any balls. In the World Cup Qualifiers he has played 12 games in which he has scored two goals till now.

Bolivia vs Uruguay Prediction

Bielsa's men have a very good record against the home side and surely they will be confident going into this fixture. On the other hand, Bolivia are struggling with their form and despite being the home side they are not favourites to win this fixture. This will be an exciting clash for sure. But, most probably the away team will win this fixture.

Predicted Score: Bolivia 0-1 Uruguay
