Cavalier vs Inter Miami Preview

  • Competition: Concacaf Champions Cup
  • Date: Friday, 14 March
  • Kick-Off Time: 12:00 AM GMT
  • Venue: National Stadium Independence Park

Cavalier vs Inter Miami will take place at the Independence Park on Friday night as both teams will lock horns against each other in the second leg of the round of 16 in the Concacaf Champions Cup.

Cavalier did perform quite well in the first leg but it was not enough to get a positive result as they lost to Miami by 2-0. This is their first appearance in the Concacaf Champions Cup and they will look to create a massive upset when they face the Herons at home. Rudolph Speid enjoyed a great spell in charge of the Kingston based squad last season, helping them win the league for the first time since 2021, claiming victory in their final three matches in the competition. However, the Champions Cup is a different level altogether and at home they will look to make their fans happy for sure. They will have to be at their best to give the away team a good challenge.

Despite not having their best player in the last game, they comfortably won against Cavalier and will look to do the same on Friday night away from home. Miami has brought in new players and a manager this season and will be hoping to have a great season once again this year. Herons' goalscoring prowess is one of the best in MLS and surely Cavalier's defence will once again be tested when they face each other. A lot of credit goes to the frontline of Inter Miami as they don't miss opportunities to score, and surely as their season progresses they will keep on improving. This upcoming second leg will be a mouthwatering clash for sure.

Key Players to Watch in Cavalier vs Inter Miami

Jamilhio Ritgers (Cavalier)

The Surinamese international is a key player for Cavalier. Even though his performance in the first leg was disappointing, and later he was substituted, he is a quality player who can make a difference on the pitch. He plays as a winger, but still is not much of a goalscorer, but he is more of a playmaker who can create opportunities out of nowhere. He is fast and agile and doesn't need many opportunities to find his teammates, his movements make things even complicated for the defenders. He will have to step up and deliver a top performance in the second leg for sure. This season he hasn't played many matches, but the coaching staff trusts him and surely he will start in the second leg.

Luis Suarez (Inter Miami)

Even though he is nearing his retirement, the Uruguayan is still one of the most lethal strikers in MLS. After many knee injuries, he struggles to run but his finishing is still top notch. Suarez said in many interviews that he is in his last stage of his career and he is enjoying his time with his friends. Despite having so many issues in his body, he is still delivering for his team and is regularly starting the games. Suarez's consistent performance helps him to keep his confidence high, his movements and game intelligence are still sharp like his prime days, but as of now he needs more support from his teammates. In two games in MLS, he has scored once and provided three assists. In the first leg he scored a goal and surely he will once again be a threat to the home team's defence in the second leg.

Cavalier vs Inter Miami Prediction

Inter Miami showed their quality in the first leg, but the second leg will surely be a challenge as Cavalier do have players who can make a difference. Cavalier will enjoy the home advantage, and this will surely be an exciting clash. Most probably the send leg fixture will end in a stalemate.

Predicted Score: Cavalier 1-1 Inter Miami
