Leicester vs Brentford Preview

  • Competition: Premier League.
  • Date: Friday, February 21.
  • Time: 8:00 PM GMT.
  • Venue: King Power Stadium.

Leicester City vs Brentford will take place at the King Power Stadium on Matchday 26 in the Premier League in the late kick-off slot on February 21.

The Foxes find themselves struggling in 19th place with 17 points from 25 matches. They are currently two points from safety and will look to do their best to get out of the drop zone. However, recent form will make things challenging, with four defeats and just one win in their last five. In this run, Leicester have scored just three goals and conceded 11 goals, failing to score in three of those games. They lost 2-0 to Arsenal in their last league outing.

The Bees, on the other hand, are much better off in 11th place with 34 points from 25 matches. Their tally is twice that of the Foxes and they are bang mid-table. Brentford will enter the next match on the back of a mixed run of form. In their last five, they have won two, lost two and drawn one, scoring five and conceding seven goals. They defeated West Ham 1-0 away from home in their last match and will look to repeat the same.

On that note, let’s take a look at the team news from both camps.

Manager Ruud van Nistelrooy fielded a strong lineup in his team’s last match against Arsenal but they lost 2-0. Very few players performed well and the manager also used four substitutions, with starter James Justin picking up a knock that will sideline him for around a month.

He will join four others on the treatment tables at Leicester City. Harry Souttar (ankle), Abdul Fatawu (cruciate ligament), Odsonne Edouard (unknown) and Ricardo Pereira (hamstring) will miss out as they continue to recover.

Manager Thomas Frank fielded a strong lineup in his team’s last match and they showed togetherness to scrape a 1-0 result. Most players as well as the five substitutes played well, barring some, while Sepp van den Berg picked up an injury but should return in time.

Five players will miss the next game, though. Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Gustavo Gomes (back), Thiago Rodrigues (virus), Joshua Dasilva (injured) and Rico Henry (hamstring) will all miss out as they continue to recover.
