Poland Vs Lithuania Preview
Tournament: World Cup European Qualifiers
Date: Friday, March 21
Kick-off time: 19:45 GMT
Venue: National Stadium Warsaw
Poland are set to welcome Lithuania in their first match of the World Cup Qualifiers on Friday at the National Stadium Warsaw. This clash will be the first match for both the sides in Group K as they aim to seal their berth in the 2026 World Cup.
Poland endured a tough campaign in the UEFA Nations League finishing bottom to get relegated to the second tier of the competition. However, they have the chance to start fresh in the World Cup Qualifiers as they aim to secure their place. They are drawn in Group K alongside Finland, Malta, Lithuania, and either of Netherlands and Spain. Michal Probierz's side has a lot of tasks ahead to turn their season around after failing to register any wins in their last five matches. With superstars like Robert Lewandowski in their ranks, they have all the tools to fight for the top spot in this competition.
Lithuania on the other hand had a disappointing campaign in the third division of the UEFA Nations League as they finished bottom in the group after losing all of their six matches. They now find themselves in a challenging group consisting of big-tier nations like Poland, Finland, and all. Defensively they are conceding goals very cheaply failing to keep a clean sheet in any of their last seven matches. However, their attacking play hasn't helped them either after managing to score four goals in the last six matches. Nevertheless, it's too early to make any conclusion with the competition still very long.

Poland National Football Team News

Marcin Bulka of Nice has emerged as the first-choice goalkeeper for Poland after Wojciech Szczesny retired from international football. He is likely to start here with Premier League defenders Matty Cash, Jan Bednarek, and Jakub Kiwior to lead the defense. The good news for them is Robert Lewandowski is back with the squad and is in great form and shape. Elsewhere, we don't expect much change in the midfield from last time with Sebastian Szymanski, Jakub Moder, and Bartosz Slisz forming the midfield.
