PSG vs Strasbourg Preview
Tournament: Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, October 19, 2024
Time: 7 pm GMT
Venue: Parc des Princes
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will host Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes after the international break in their eighth Ligue 1 clash of the season. The Parisians are unbeaten in the league but still find themselves second, two points behind AS Monaco.
PSG have five wins and two draws while Monaco have six wins and one draw. Luis Enrique’s side started the season really well after Kylian Mbappe’s departure, winning five matches in a row across competitions. However, since then, they have only won one in their last four games across competitions. They are 19th in the UEFA Champions League league table.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, have shown an improvement from last season when they finished 13th in Ligue 1. They are currently seventh in the table with two wins, one loss, and four defeats. They are unbeaten in their last four games and will look to continue that streak against the champions. A win could see them potentially move into fifth place in the table.
PSG Team News
PSG have Goncalo Ramos, Lucas Hernandez, and Presnel Kimpembe out due to injuries. Kimpembe is expected to return in late October while Ramos will return in November. Lucas Hernandez is recovering from an ACL injury and will return next year.

Strasbourg, meanwhile, have Guela Doue and Ismael Doukoure out of the clash due to suspension. Moreover, Alaa Bellaarouch, Caleb Wiley, Mamadou Sarr, Marvin Senaya, Milos Lukovic, Dian Sahi, and Thomas Delaine are all out injured.

Key Players to watch in PSG vs Strasbourg
Bradley Barcola
Bradley Barcola joined PSG from Olympique Lyon last summer and registered five goals and nine assists in 42 games across competitions last season. However, with Kylian Mbappe leaving, he’s made the left wing his own this campaign. He’s already bettered his goals tally from last season, having netted six goals in just seven Ligue 1 games this season so far.
Barcola provides a constant threat for PSG up front. He also scored in France’s 4-1 win over Israel during the international break and will be keen to keep up his excellent form.
Sebastian Nanasi
Sebastian Nanasi is considered one of the best talents to have come out of Sweden in recent years. The attacking midfielder scored a brace in Sweden’s 3-0 win over Estonia on October 14 and has netted three goals in five games for them.
Nanasi joined Strasbourg from Malmo in the summer and has already become an important player for them. He’s scored six goals and provided three assists in 10 games across competitions this season so far.
PSG vs Strasbourg Prediction
PSG had an excellent start to life without Kylian Mbappe but seemed to have fumbled in recent weeks. They have just one win in their last four games, having drawn two and lost one.
They lost against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League before drawing against OGC Nice in their previous two games before the international break. Luis Enrique will be keen to break this run and get back to winning ways and build some momentum.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last four games but have won just one of them. They drew against Angers and Lille before beating Marseille and then drew against RC Lens.
They have put in good performances but go to the Parc des Princes heavily depleted. With suspensions and injuries, they have a big chunk of their team out of action. Hence, PSG are likely to take full benefit of this opportunity and get a comfortable win.
Predicted Score: PSG 4-1 Strasbourg
