PSV vs Juventus Preview

  • Tournament: UEFA Champions League
  • Date: Wednesday, February 19
  • Kick-off Time: 8:00 pm GMT
  • Venue: Philips Stadion, Eindhoven, Netherlands

PSV and Juventus will contest the second leg of the UEFA Champions League playoffs tie at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Juventus managed to take advantage of the home leg, winning 2-1. The tie, however, is still very much in the balance with PSV preparing for a fantastic showing from the fans which will only make the Old Lady’s job tougher. The winner of the tie will advance to the round of 16 stage. The PSV vs Juventus match promises to be filled with entertainment and talking points,

PSV will be disappointed with how the recent games have played out. In the last six matches, the Dutch club has managed just a couple of victories to go with three draws and a defeat. In the last few weeks, PSV has also conceded the top spot in the Eredivisie to rivals, Ajax. A deep run in the UEFA Champions League will certainly help win the fans over but a stern obstacle in the form of Juventus lies in front of the Dutch outfit. Noa Lang has provided the most assists for the club this term (nine). PSV also ranks first in the Dutch top tier when it comes to goals scored per match (3.1).

Juventus will be content with its latest results. The most successful Italian club of all time has accumulated four victories and two defeats in the last six outings. The Old Lady got the better of its fiercest rivals, Inter Milan on Sunday, which has pushed Juventus to the top four in Serie A. Thiago Motta has been subject to severe criticism this campaign, mainly due to the plethora of draws endured by his team. Nonetheless, the Italian deserves praise for his work so far, considering the state of the team when he took over. Dusan Vlahovic is the top scorer this season with 13 goals and Juventus has kept the most clean sheets in Serie A till now (12).
