Summary

Al Ittihad claimed a commanding 2-1 SPL derby victory over Al Nassr at Alinma Bank Stadium. Ilenikhena's devastating 4th- and 22nd-minute brace established complete control before Angelo's composed response gave Postecoglou's side brief and ultimately insufficient hope of a dramatic comeback.
Al Nassr's damaging derby defeat, two goals conceded in the opening 22 minutes, their defensive structure repeatedly exposed by Ilenikhena's intelligent movement, and Ronaldo's continued inability to influence the most decisive and consequential moments, confirmed that Postecoglu must urgently resolve the defensive vulnerabilities that Al Ittihad's clinical early blitz so ruthlessly and consequentially exposed.

George Ilenikhena needed just 22 minutes at Alinma Bank Stadium to settle the Saudi Pro League's most anticipated derby fixture. His 4th-minute composed opener arrived before Al Nassr's defensive structure had properly established itself. His clinical 22nd-minute second ended the contest as a genuine competition before the half-hour mark had passed. Jens Wissing's Al Ittihad claimed one of their most commanding and consequential SPL derby victories in recent memory, and the manner of it will concern Ange Postecoglou considerably more than the result itself.

Ilenikhena was exceptional throughout at 8.8/10. Both goals demonstrated different dimensions of his attacking quality, the first a composed near-post finish from a tight angle, the second a powerful driven effort that gave Bento no realistic chance of saving. His intelligent movement between Al Nassr's defensive lines, his pressing triggers that repeatedly disrupted Postecoglou's build-up, and his complete 68-minute authority confirmed why the Belgian teenager has emerged as the Saudi Pro League's most exciting and consequential young attacking talent.

Angelo's 36th-minute composed finish gave Al Nassr and Ronaldo a foothold that briefly threatened to transform the contest's narrative, the Brazilian forward's clinical left-footed effort from Talisca's precise delivery confirming that Postecoglu's side carry sufficient individual quality to threaten any SPL opponent even when two goals behind. But Al Ittihad's defensive organisation in the second half, compact, physically aggressive, and collectively disciplined, absorbed Al Nassr's sustained pressure with a composure and authority that Wissing's tactical preparation had clearly and meticulously built toward.

Al Nassr's SPL title credentials now face their most serious early-season examination, three points dropped in the derby combined with Cristiano Ronaldo's continued absence from the scoresheet raising questions that Postecoglou's system must address urgently. For Al Ittihad, Ilenikhena's brace and Wissing's tactical masterclass confirm that the Tigers are the most dangerous and individually complete SPL title challenger remaining in the division's most competitive and unpredictable early-season standings.
