Al Wasl 0-4 Al Nassr Player Ratings: Cristiano Ronaldo & Co. Put Four Past Al Wasl To Secure Semifinal Place In The AFC Champions League Two

Summary

  • Cristiano Ronaldo put Al Nassr in the lead in the 11th minute from Al-Boushail's cross.
  • Inigo Martinez and Abdulelah Al-Amri scored in the space of three minutes to make it three for Al Nassr, both assisted by Joao Felix.
  • Sadio Mane put the final nail in the coffin in this ACL Two quarterfinal game.

Cristiano Ronaldo was back in action for Al Nassr as Jorge Jesus' man bagged a commanding victory over Al Wasl in the quarterfinal of the AFC Champions League Two. The Yellow Brigade played away from home but put in a great shift at the Zabeel Stadium.

This fixture was initially scheduled for a two-legged fixture, but was postponed a month earlier, and it was ultimately decided to play over a single leg.

Al Nassr started strongly with a goal in the 11th minute, as Nawaf Al-Boushail's low cross found an unmarked Cristiano Ronaldo in the box, and one of the best football players of all time made no mistake in putting it in the back of the net.

The second goal came in the 24th minute through a header from ex-Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez, who was found neatly by Joao Felix from a cross following a corner.

The script repeated when Felix assisted Abdulelah Al-Amri in the same manner just three minutes later to put the game well and truly past Al Wasl within the first thirty minutes of the game.

The second half saw Al Nassr dominate the proceedings, but they were a bit reluctant to score more goals before Sadio Mane added a fourth in the 80th minute from an Abdullah Al Hamddan assist. Al Wasl tried their best, but they were no match for the star-studded Al Nassr side. The Yellow Army qualified for the semifinals ultimately.
