Atletico Madrid 0-2 Bayern Player Ratings: A Disciplined Bayern Side See Off Simeone's Men Away From Home To Keep Top Eight Hopes Within Sight

A gritty first half panned out in the Atletico Madrid vs Bayern game as both teams had their fair share of chances to go in front in this crucial UEFA Champions League match. Atletico's best chance fell to Alexander Sørloth in the 30th minute, when the Norwegian just couldn't make up his mind about the finish at the back post off a cross from Marc Pubill.

Reigning Ballon d'Or holder Harry Kane had two good chances, one of which was expertly blocked by Dávid Hancko. Lennart Karl also saw his effort fly over the crossbar, which left the teams on level terms at the end of the first 45 minutes.

Bayern Munich controlled most of the half and deserved a lead, but unfortunately they had to wait for their luck to shine in the second half. Lennart Karl broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, as Tom Bischof's initial shot wasn't cleared properly in the box.

Karl robbed Robin Le Normand under his nose to finish cheekily past Jan Oblak to give the visitors the much-deserved lead. Konrad Laimer got himself on the scoresheet with a thundering strike at Oblak's near post in the 74th minute, as his strike came off the crossbar into the back of the net, to give the Bavarians breathing space in the game.
