Another fiery fixture panned out today in the SAFF U20 Championship as neighbors, Bangladesh and India, faced off in a group stage match. India were riding on the back of a perfect 3-0 win over Pakistan, and Bangladesh too handed the Pakistanis a disappointing 2-0 defeat in their previous game.

The India U20 national football team were the first to draw blood, as Omung Dodum's corner found Vishal Yadav completely unmarked at the far post, and the Punjab FC youngster made no mistake in giving the Blue Colts the lead in the 17th minute.

However, they committed the same mistake that they did against Pakistan U20, as they sat deep and looked to see out the sustained pressure from the Bangladesh U20 national football team. Bangladesh looked like a different team after conceding, as they attacked the Indian defense in whichever way they could.

Their efforts paid off just before the first half whistle, as Ronan Sullivan's corner was met by substitute Abdul Riyad, who found acres of space in the box and tapped it home from close range to equalize for the Bengal Tigers.

The second half saw both teams going toe to toe with each other, with occasional tempers flaring from a bad challenge or goal-saving move. Indian goalkeeping coach Sandeep Nandi saw a red card due to his repeated quarreling with the referee, but it didn't affect India's chances much.
