The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group C fixtures took us to the TQL Stadium in Ohio, where German giants Bayern Munich locked horns against New Zealand's Auckland City. Bayern Munich had been unarguably the best side in the German top division after they won the Bundesliga recently, after a year's gap. Group C has two teams from Europe, Germany's Bayern Munich and Portugal's Benfica, one from the Asian region - Auckland City, and another from South America - Boca Juniors.
Talking about Bayern Munich, Vincent Kompany has turned the German giants into an infallible team this season in the German top flight. They came agonisingly so close in the UEFA Champions League Quarter Finals, but were defeated by finalists Inter Milan. Harry Kane won his first major trophy in his career after Bayern won the Bundesliga this season. Bayern had won the FIFA Club World Cup twice in 2013 and 2020. In 2013, they edged past Morocco's Raja CA in the Finals, whereas in 2020, they got the better of Mexico's Tigres UANL.
In the 2014 Club World Cup, Auckland came so close to reaching the finals, but settled for a bronze medal after getting the better of Cruz Azul in the third-place encounter. The game began with Kingsley Coman opening the goal-scoring machine for Bayern in just 6 minutes. The right back doubled Bayern's lead in the 18th minute, which was followed by Michael Olise's strike in the 20th minute. The fate of the game was also sealed when Kingsley Coman scored his brace. From the 18th to the 21st minute, Bayern ran riot after netting three goals in three minutes to seal the game in the first half, and also secured all three points along with a superior goal difference. Just when it seemed Bayern scored enough goals in the first half.
Thomas Muller decided to enter his name in the scoresheet, followed by Olise's second goal that saw Bayern net six goals in the first half itself. The second half saw Musiala open his scoring in the 67th minute and also completed his hat-trick, whereas Muller scored another goal to score past 10 goals. Here are the Bayern Munich vs Auckland City player ratings.

Bayern Munich Player Ratings

Goalkeeper
Manuel Neuer - 7.5/10
The veteran German custodian hardly saw any attacks coming to trouble him. He had a rare calm day in office tonight as it was the Bayern strikers who stole all the limelight.
Defenders
Sacha Boey - 9/10
The right back was in sublime form tonight. He is not a regular starter for Bayern. But when Vincent Kompany gave him an opportunity, he grabbed his chance with both hands. He scored a goal tonight as well.
Jonathan Tah - 8/10
It is never easy to come to a different team and fit in so quickly, but Tah did that very well in his first match for Munich after making a move from Leverkusen. He also provided an assist tonight.
Josip Stanisic - 7/10
Stanisic had an easy day in office tonight as the Bayern defence were not tested enough today.
Raphael Guerriro - 7/10
Guerriro played decently from the left flank to help Bayern initiate attacks from the flanks.
Midfielders
Joshua Kimmich - 8/10
Despite not having any goal contribution in this game, he played a crucial role in controlling the midfield for Bayern and helping them to win those midfield battles in the centre of the park.
Aleksander Pavlovic - 8/10
He was controlling the tempo of the game for Bayern and ensured that there was no shortage of attacks from the midfield for Bayern.
Michael Olise - 9.5/10
Michael Olise was brilliant tonight. He not only scored a brace but also contributed two assists to help Bayern seal the fate of the game in the first half itself.
Attackers
Thomas Muller - 9/10
Thomas had aged like a fine wine. The German veteran not only scored a goal tonight but also led the attacking prowess of his team.
Kingsley Coman - 9.5/10
What else can you ask from the Frenchmen? Coman scored two goals and also provided an assist. All of them within the first 45 minutes since the first whistle was blown. He was unarguably the best player for Bayern tonight.
Harry Kane - 7.5/10
Harry didn't have much to do tonight as Coman, Olise, and Muller took all the responsibility of scoring goals and leading the attack. It seemed as if Auckland players were prepared for Harry tonight.
Substitutes
SUB - Dayot Upamecano - 7/10
SUB - Serge Gnabry - 7.5/10
SUB - Jamal Musiala - 9.5/10
Musiala was a super sub tonight, scoring two goals after coming onto the pitch. After scoring a goal, he converted a penalty to make it eight for Bayern. He completed his hat-trick as well.
SUB - Lennart Karl - 7/10
Manager
Vincent Kompany - 9/10
Almost a perfect 10 for the Belgian gaffer for executing his strategies perfectly tonight. Also, he not only took Bayern one step ahead in the knockout rounds, but also tested his bench strength to plan his strategies wisely ahead of the next games.

Auckland City Player Ratings

Goalkeeper
Conor Tracey - 5/10
Conor had a night to forget tonight. The 2014 club World Cup bronze medalist faced a humiliating defeat tonight, and Tracey in goal was nothing but a disaster tonight.
Defenders
Nikko Boxall - 5/10
Horrible game from Auckland's right wing back tonight. He left the right flank exposed for the opposition team to come and exploit.
Mario Ilich - 6.5/10
Ilich did make a couple of interceptions to control Bayern, but the opposition players were strong enough to outplay him.
Adam Mitchell - 5/10
No adjectives are enough to define how defensively poor Mitchell was tonight.
Regont Murati - 5.5/10
Murati also had a horrible game tonight, and Bayern strikers kept making entries into the opposition's box easily.
Nathan Lobo - 5/10
Lobo on the left flank was disgraceful as Bayern wingers exploited the team's defence from the left part of the pitch.

Midfielders
Dylan Manickum - 7/10
Amidst a series of blunders and horrible displays of football, Manickum was seen trying his best to control Bayern. He was the best player for Auckland in this game.
Gerrard Garriga - 6.5/10
Garriga couldn't make much impact in the game tonight and was seen clueless in the centre of the park.
David Yoo - 6.5/10
Yoo was seen making some runs from the flanks, but they were not impactful enough to create any meaningful chances for the New Zealand outfit.
Forwards
Myer Bevan - 6/10
Hardly any threatening attacks from Auckland in this game. After conceding an early goal, Bevan didn't even look interested in making a comeback in this game.

Substitutes
SUB - Tong Zhou - 6/10
SUB - Jerson Lagos - 6/10
Manager
Ivan Vicelich - 5.5/10
The former New Zealand footballer is not to be blamed completely. He, however, couldn't make the most of his squad, and his strategies were not at all impactful in controlling Bayern.
