Bournemouth 3-0 Aston Villa Player Ratings: Marco Rose's Men Triumph Over A Flawed Aston Villa Defense To Seal A Berth In The Carabao Cup Quarterfinals

Two top-flight clubs met in the EFL Carabao Cup 2026/27 fourth round, as Bournemouth hosted Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium.

The Cherries took good use of their home advantage and struck early, as Marcus Tavernier dinked it over the top for Julio Soler to chase, who cut it back for Amine Adli to tap home from close range, giving AFC Bournemouth the lead in the 7th minute.

Despite Aston Villa keeping the most possession in the first half, Bournemouth seemed to be the better team with their movements across the pitch. The hosts found their second goal in the 51st minute, when Lewis Cook got to the end of a Ben Gannon-Doak cross at the near post to beat Marco Bizot.

Álvaro Rodriguez joined the party in the 69th minute, as he took two touches after the pass from Tyler Adams before drilling the ball into the far corner, signalling the elimination bells for Unai Emery's side.

Marco Rose and co. ultimately bagged the win and are now ready to face the next challenge in the cup competitions, while the reigning UEFA Europa League champions would look to bounce back as soon as possible.
