Brentford 1-2 Liverpool Player Ratings: Wirtz 8.8/10 as the Reds Capitalise on Yarmoliuk Red Card to Claim a Hard-Fought Gtech Win

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool arrived at the Gtech Community Stadium knowing that dropped points against a Brentford side revitalised under Keith Andrews would represent a damaging blow to their Premier League title ambitions, and for 44 minutes, that scenario looked increasingly plausible as Lewis-Potter’s composed first-half finish gave the Bees the lead their energetic, aggressive pressing had thoroughly deserved.

Yarmoliuk’s straight red card deep into first-half stoppage time, a moment of reckless challenge that left Brentford with ten men for the entire second half, fundamentally reframed the contest before the restart had even begun. Liverpool’s quality and depth made the numerical advantage tell with clinical efficiency, Munoz’s composed 62nd-minute equaliser and Isak’s clinical 70th-minute finish completing a turnaround that Brentford, despite competing with tremendous spirit, had no realistic means of preventing.

Florian Wirtz was Liverpool’s most consistent and dangerous performer throughout, his movement between the lines, technical quality in tight spaces, and relentless creative energy the driving force behind Liverpool’s second-half dominance. The German midfielder’s 8.8/10 rating reflects a complete, authoritative display that underlines his growing importance to Iraola’s Premier League title challenge.
