Chelsea 4-1 AC Milan Player Ratings: Pedro Neto Rated 7.5/10 As Chelsea Thump AC Milan In Their Final Game of Pre-Season

Summary
Chelsea locked horns with AC Milan in a club friendly on 10th August, 2025, at 3:00 PM (GMT), at Stamford Bridge. This game served as the final match of their pre-season preparations, as both teams start their league campaign in the new season next week. Chelsea started as the better of the two teams, as they enjoyed a lot of possession of the ball and controlled the game quite well. They pressed the AC Milan midfield quite effectively and won the ball in important parts of the pitch. Chelsea got a free kick on the right-hand side of the penalty box, which was delivered in by Reece James, but Andrei Coubis couldn't sort his feet out and put the ball back in his net in the 5th minute of the game. Just three minutes later, Pedro Neto made a darting run into the right-hand side box before delivering a delicious cross for Portugal forward Joao Pedro, who headed it quite nicely past Mike Maignan to double the lead for the Blues in the 8th minute of the game. Coubis had a game to forget, as the 21-year-old was sent off in just the 18th minute of the game due to a pull on Joao Pedro, who seemed to be through on goal. Being the last defender, Coubis had to make a decision and made the wrong one. The game ended at 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, AC Milan seemed to improve a bit with their playmaking, as Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemaekers tried to make things happen for the Rossoneri. However, against the run of play, Chelsea got a penalty in the 67th minute due to a foul on Estevao at the far post. Liam Delap stepped up to put it past the right-hand of Mike Maignan to make it three for the Blues on the day. He again scored in the 90th minute of the game to finish things off in style. Chelsea ended the game on a high and will be full of confidence before they start their league campaign against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Here are Sportsdunia's Chelsea Player Ratings:
Goalkeeper:
Robert Sanchez - 6/10
The Spanish goalkeeper was majorly untested throughout the game. Sanchez made a couple of good saves and showed improving signs with his outing.
Defenders:
Reece James - 7/10
The captain of the Blues, Reece James, had a decent game on the right-hand side. The English fullback made runs with the ball into the opposition half whenever he got a chance and delivered quality balls into the box. Defensively, he was quite sound, too. His delicious delivery in the box caused an own goal, which opened the scoring for Chelsea.
Trevoh Chalobah - 6/10
Chalobah stepped out at times to make important interceptions and blocked quite a few shots in and around the box. He was on hand to clear the crosses with ease and held the defensive line well.
Tosin Adarabioyo - 6.5/10
Tosin had a decent game too, just as his partner at the back, with the English centre back making important interceptions in and around the danger areas. He used his physicality well against Rafael Leao and fared well against the pacy Portuguese winger.
Marc Cucurella - 6/10
Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella played a good game on the left-hand side, as he made dangerous overlapping runs, which caused problems for Alexis Saelemaekers to track at times. Defensively, he was out of position at times but made his ground quickly.

Midfielders:
Enzo Fernandez - 6/10
The Argentine played a very good game in the middle of the park. Playing in a double pivot, Enzo Fernandez controlled the tempo of the game quite well and played many line-breaking passes for his teammates to latch on to.
Moises Caicedo - 6.5/10
Caicedo completed the double pivot and played well as the holding midfielder. The Colombian international made important interceptions in the heart of the midfield and was key in helping the Blues shift from defensive to offensive transitions really quickly.
Pedro Neto - 7.5/10
The Portuguese winger was quite lively on the right wing, making dangerous runs with the ball into the opposition half. Neto used his pace quite well to get into the danger areas and provided quite a few delicious low crosses into the AC Milan box. One of those crosses found the lively Joao Pedro, who made no mistake in putting it in the back of the net.
Cole Palmer - 7/10
The superstar of Chelsea Football Club, Cole Palmer, once again proved why he is highly regarded among the current crop of generational players. The Englishman brought his A-game to the fixture, as his twists and turns and slick passes were hard to anticipate. He got into good positions in between the defensive lines and made driving runs forward with the ball.
Jamie Gittens - 6/10
One of the newcomers, Jamie Gittens, had a decent game for the Blues in this match. The Englishman went up against Yunus Musah and got the better of him at times with his dazzling trickery.
Forwards:
Joao Pedro - 7/10
Joao Pedro has been a revelation since he arrived at Chelsea, with four goals in four games already. The Brazilian made good runs off the ball and dropped deep, demanding the ball to be played at his feet. Pedro held the ball well before passing it to a better-positioned teammate and scored a lovely header to double the lead for the Blues.

Malo Gusto - 6/10
Estevao - 6/10
Reggie Walsh - 5/10
Tyrique Geroge - 5/10
Jorrel Hato - NA
Dario Essego - NA
Manager:
Enzo Maresca - 7/10
Set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Caicedo and Eno as a double pivot. His team pressed well and played swift passes, which confused the AC Milan players, and they were unable to keep up for most of the game.

Here are Sportsdunia's AC Milan Player Ratings:
Goalkeeper:
Mike Maignan - 6/10
Maignan was kept busy throughout the game. The French goalkeeper had little to do with either of the goals he conceded, as each one of them came from defensive errors.
Defenders:
Andrei Coubis - 3.5/10
The youngster had a day to forget, as he scored an own goal within just five minutes of the game and was sent off in the 8th minute due to a shirt pull on Joao Pedro, being the last man in defense.
Fikayo Tomori - 5/10
The former Chelsea man, Fikayo Tomori, had a decent game at the back. The Englishman was on hand to thwart several dangerous Chelsea crosses and made quite a few blocks, too. However, he should have marked Joao Pedro better for Chelsea's second goal.
Filippo Terracciano - 5.5/10
The Italian centre back had a hard time defending against the likes of Jamie Gittens and was quite poor with his positioning for most of the game. Terracciano didn't cover the spaces well and often left the player unmarked with acres of space in front of him.

Midfielders:
Davide Bartesaghi - 5.5/10
Davide Bartesaghi had an okayish game on the left-hand side, as he struggled against the likes of Pedro Neto, who gave him a really hard time. He couldn't contribute much offensively either, as he saw little of the ball.
Youssouf Fofana - 7/10
Fofana made his presence felt in the middle of the park as he put his physicality to good use to contain the likes of Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez. He was successful to some extent but had little help from his teammates. Scored the only goal for AC Milan in the match.
Samuele Ricci - 5/10
Ricci struggled to find his feet in the heart of the midfield, as he was pressed hard by the likes of Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo, and Enzo Fernandez. The Italian midfielder lost the ball way too often in the danger areas and failed to control the tempo for the Rossoneri.
Yunus Musah - 6/10
Yunus Musah kept Jamie Gittens at bay for most of the game, although the young English winger did trouble him quite a few times with his trickery and pace. Offensively, he got into good positions to combine with Loftus-Cheek up front.
Alexis Saelemaekers - 7/10
Saelemaekers seemed to be the only one trying to make things happen for the Italian club, as his turns and runs into danger did cause a few problems for the Chelsea backline. However, he didn't get much support from his teammates. Saelemaekers provided a lovely assist for Youssouf Fofana to pull one back for the Rossoneri.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek - 6/10
Another ex-Chelsea man, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, held the ball well in and around the Chelsea penalty box and played some neat one-twos with Rafael Leao. The Englishman got into dangerous positions and always looked for a way forward with the ball at his feet. He was one of the brightest spots in an otherwise dull AC Milan squad.
Forwards:
Rafael Leao - 6.5/10
The Portuguese international was quite lively throughout the game with his runs into the Chelsea box. Rafael Leao used his dazzling pace to get past the defenders and had a shot or two at goal, but they were majorly harmless. He played a nice through ball to Saelemaekers, which the Belgian failed to capitalize on.
Substitutes:
Luka Modric - 6/10
Matteo Dutu - NA
Victor Eletu - NA
Diego Sia - NA
Manager:
Massimiliano Allegri - 6/10
Allegri played with a back three and got hit massively. His team never looked to be in the game, and were quite sloppy with their passage of play.
