Summary
What a humiliating match it was for the hosts as the visitors banged 6 goals against Djibouti. This was one of the most one-sided matches we've seen in the CAF World Cup Qualifiers so far. Burkina Faso were simply on another level as they dominated the match from the very start. The sending-off of Djibouti's captain, Yabe Siad, for a moment of madness completely shattered any game plan they might have had. It was a long, painful night for the home side from that point on.
Even after Dango Ouattara surprisingly struck the post with a penalty, the floodgates opened. They were relentless, pouring forward and scoring four goals before the halftime whistle even blew. This match felt more like a training exercise for the Stallions than a competitive qualifier. The second half was a formality, but they still managed to add a fifth, putting a gloss on an utterly dominant performance.

Goalkeeper
Hervé Koffi - 6.5: Honestly, he could have brought a book to read. Djibouti offered absolutely nothing going forward. He had maybe one or two touches of the ball. An easy clean sheet, but he was a complete spectator for 90 minutes. Can't give a higher rating for doing nothing.
Defenders
Edmond Tapsoba - 9.5: What stood out to us was his attacking prowess from a defensive position. This was a man of the match performance, no question. He bagged two goals with clinical finishes a striker would be proud of. Defensively, he was untroubled and composed. He was simply magnificent and the best player on the pitch by a mile.
Issa Kaboré - 7.5: A constant outlet on the right flank. He spent more time in Djibouti's half than his own. His energy was impressive, always looking to overlap and support the attack. A very solid performance from the fullback, who enjoyed the freedom of the pitch.
Abdoul Ayinde - 7.5: Grabbed himself an assist which is a fantastic contribution for a defender. He looked completely at ease throughout the game. He didn't have to make a single tackle of note. He just passed the ball around and joined in the fun. A comfortable day's work.
I. Dayo - 7.0: The captain had a very quiet evening leading the backline. He marshaled his defence well, though they faced no real pressure. His experience was evident in his positioning and communication. He ensured there were no lapses in concentration, which can happen in such a one-sided game.
Saïdou Simporé - 7.0: Much like his defensive partners, he had very little to do. He was tidy in possession and never looked rushed. From our perspective, he did his job efficiently without breaking a sweat. It was the perfect game for a defender to ease through.

Midfielders
Cyriaque Irié - 9.0: An absolutely stunning first-half display. He scored two goals and provided an assist in just 46 minutes. He was unplayable, drifting into pockets of space and destroying the Djibouti midfield. It was a shame he was substituted at halftime, he was on for a hat-trick.
Josué Tiendrébéogo - 7.0: He got himself on the scoresheet, which is always a huge bonus for a midfielder. However, he blotted his copybook with a needless yellow card. It was a good performance overall, but the booking was a silly mistake in a game that was already won.
Ibrahim Blati Touré - 6.5: He was the quiet orchestrator in the first half. Kept possession ticking over and recycled the ball effectively. Did the simple things well before being rested at the break. A decent, if unspectacular, shift.

Forwards
Dango Ouattara - 7.5: A strange game for him. The missed penalty was a huge shock, a real collector's item of a mistake. But credit to him, he didn't let his head drop. He kept going and eventually got his redemption with a well-taken goal in the second half. That showed good character.
Mohamed Konaté - 7.0: He worked tirelessly up front and linked up play well, getting an assist for his efforts. He didn't manage to score himself, but his movement created space for others. It was a selfless performance before he was substituted.

Substitutes
Georgi Minoungou - 6.0: Came on at halftime but the game's intensity had dropped. Didn't have the same impact as Irié.
Pierre Landry Kabore - 6.0: Replaced Konaté but had little opportunity to make a mark with the game already over as a contest.
Manager
I. Balbone - 8.0: His game plan was perfect, especially after the red card. He instructed his team to be ruthless and they delivered in spades. The halftime substitutions to rest key players showed smart game management. A flawless result for him and his team.

Goalkeeper
L. Said - 4.0: A truly thankless task for the Djibouti keeper. He conceded five goals and was left completely exposed by his defence. He made a couple of saves, but he was fighting a losing battle from the 10th minute. A night he'll want to forget immediately.
Defenders
Yabe Siad - 1.0: A catastrophic performance from the captain. To get a straight red card for unsporting behavior just 10 minutes in is unforgivable. He single-handedly ruined the game for his team. An absolute disaster class and easily the worst performer.
Idriss Houmed Bilha - 3.0: He was part of a backline that was torn to shreds. Chasing shadows for 90 minutes. He looked out of his depth against the pace and movement of Burkina Faso's attackers. A very, very difficult evening.
Ali Youssouf Farada - 3.0: Just like his defensive colleagues, he had a torrid time. He was bypassed with ease time and time again. The Burkinabe forwards must have thought it was a training session. He couldn't cope at all.
Ibrahim Idriss Mohamed - 3.5: Mercifully substituted at halftime after a nightmare 45 minutes. The defense was in disarray and he was a key part of the problem. Offered no resistance whatsoever.
A Zakaria - 3.0: An anonymous and ineffective display. He was completely overrun. We noticed he struggled with the simplest of defensive duties. A harsh lesson in international football for him.

Midfielders
Doualeh Mahamoud Elabeh - 4.0: The midfield battle was lost before it even began. He couldn't get near the ball and was chasing phantoms. Hooked at halftime, which was no surprise. He was simply outclassed.
I.H. Bilha - 4.0: We can barely remember him touching the ball. The game completely passed him by. He was a passenger in a sinking ship.
O. Daher - 4.0: Similar to his midfield partners, he had no impact on the game. He spent the entire match on the back foot, unable to stem the tide of Burkina Faso attacks. A powerless performance.

Forwards
M. Mahamed - 4.5: He was completely isolated up front. He received no service and had no chances to speak of. You have to feel for him. He ran around but it was a hopeless cause.
M. Waise - 4.5: Starved of possession and isolated from his teammates. It's impossible to rate a striker who never gets the ball in dangerous areas. A frustrating and fruitless night's work.

Substitutes
Mohamed Khaire - 5.0: Came into a lost cause. Ran hard but couldn't change the game.
Ahmed Omar - 5.0: Brought on when the game was over. Had no chance to influence proceedings.
Egal Awaleh - N/A: Not on long enough to rate.
Manager
S. Nado - 3.0: His team looked unprepared, and his captain's dismissal left him with an impossible task. His side collapsed completely and showed no fight or organization. It was a tactical shambles, and he looked powerless on the sideline. A day to forget for the Djibouti coach.
