Jordan 0-0 Russia Player Ratings: Aleksandr Maksimenko Rated 8/10 as Tense Goalless Stalemate Happened at Otkrytiye Arena

Summary
The clash between the Russian national football team and Jordan at the Otkrytiye Arena promised a sensational match, it certainly served up a tense tactical battle between both managers. The final 0-0 scoreline at the full-time whistle tells a story of strong defending and, frankly, wasteful finishing from both sides, especially from Jordan. From Sportsdunia's perspective, this was a game defined by moments that looked would turn the tide of the match but failed to do so at the end.
We noticed right away that Jordan weren't just here to make up the numbers. They were compact, organised, and looked dangerous on the counter as they were maintaining a low block against the Russian team, with Mousa Tamari being a key player. Russia, on the other hand, dominated possession for large spells but often looked ponderous in the final third. They struggled to break down a disciplined Jordanian backline. Additionally, the poor finishing from the attack line helped Jordan steal 1 point from the fixture.
The match highlight, or perhaps the most frustrating moment depending on who you support, was M. Glushenkov rattling the crossbar in the 85th minute which almost confirmed that both sides were not having their day on the pitch. That was as close as anyone came. Both goalkeepers, Aleksandr Maksimenko for Russia and Yazeed Abulaila for Jordan, deserve immense credit for a string of vital saves that kept the match goalless and interesting at both ends. It was a classic case of 'what if', a game that could have easily ended 2-2 on another day.

Goalkeeper
Yazeed Abulaila - 7.0: Looked a bit shaky with his distribution, completing only half his passes. However, he made three crucial saves inside the box. His late save to deny Glushenkov was absolutely vital to securing the draw. He stood tall when it mattered most. A solid if not entirely convincing performance.
Defenders
Abdallah Nasib - 7.5: A really solid performance at the back. He won five of his seven duels and made four crucial tackles. His one error leading to a shot was a slight blemish on an otherwise very dependable and commanding display. He read the game exceptionally well throughout the ninety minutes.
Yazan Alarab - 6.5: A mixed bag from the central defender. He made some important clearances and blocked a shot, but looked uncomfortable on the ball at times. From our perspective, losing possession nine times is too high. He also blazed a speculative shot over from distance when a pass might have been better.
Mo Abualnadi - 7.0: A very tidy and efficient display on the defensive flank. He was excellent with his passing, boasting an 87% accuracy. What stood out to us were his two interceptions and three clearances. He got forward to support the attack, even having a shot himself. A balanced performance.

Midfielders
Ibrahim Sadeh - 8.0: He was absolutely fantastic in midfield before being substituted. His passing was exceptional at 89% accuracy and he created two key chances for his teammates. What stood out to us was his calmness in possession and his ability to break the lines. A truly classy operator who controlled the tempo.
Mohannad Abu Taha - 7.0: A really industrious performance in his 68 minutes on the pitch. He was everywhere, making four interceptions and recovering the ball seven times. He was a real workhorse for the team, though his passing could have been a bit tidier. His energy was key to Jordan's midfield battle.
Nizar Al Rashdan - 8.5: Our man of the match, without a doubt. An absolutely colossal performance in the heart of midfield. His stats are incredible: 11 ball recoveries, 3 key passes, and an 83% duel success rate. He was the engine room, the defensive shield, and the creative force all rolled into one. A truly dominant display.
Adham Al Quraishi - 7.0: A solid and disciplined outing on the flank. We noticed his defensive contribution, making four interceptions. He was tidy in his work and provided good width, delivering a dangerous cross. He supported his defenders well and was a reliable presence before being subbed.

Forwards
Ali Olwan - 6.5: It was a frustrating night for the attacker. He got into good positions and had three shots, two of which were on target, but his final product was lacking. He missed a big chance and lost the ball 14 times, which disrupted his team's rhythm. A lot of effort but not enough quality.
Mousa Tamari - 7.5: Jordan's most dangerous player by a mile. As captain, he led by example, always looking to take players on. He created two chances and got four shots away, constantly probing the Russian defence. Sometimes his final decision could have been better, but he was a persistent threat.
Yazan Al-Naimat - 5.5: A really difficult evening for the forward. He just could not get into the game, losing possession an incredible 18 times in just 64 minutes. From our view, he looked off the pace and was completely nullified by the Russian defenders. A performance to forget.
Manager
J. Sellami - 7.5: He set his team up perfectly for a tough away friendly. Jordan were organised, incredibly difficult to break down, and always carried a threat on the counter-attack. His tactical plan to frustrate Russia and use the pace of his forwards worked brilliantly to earn a commendable draw.

Goalkeeper
Aleksandr Maksimenko - 8.0: He single-handedly earned his team a point with a fantastic performance. He made five saves, including some really crucial stops from inside the box. What we noticed was how he commanded his area, claiming high balls with confidence. A top-tier goalkeeping display.
Defenders
Evgeniy Morozov - 6.5: A decent game but he let himself down by picking up a needless yellow card. He was very solid in possession with 91% pass accuracy but was dribbled past once. A steady, if unspectacular, performance at the back.
Ruslan Litvinov - 7.0: A passing machine at the back, completing an impressive 98 passes. He was a rock defensively, recovering the ball 11 times and making six clearances. However, he also picked up a booking and looked a bit rash in the challenge at times, which docks his rating slightly.
Y. Gorshkov - 6.5: Solid enough before being substituted just after the hour mark. He didn't do much wrong defensively but also didn't contribute much to the attack. It was a quiet and steady performance, nothing more and nothing less.
Ilya Vakhania - 6.5: Much like his fellow fullback, he was defensively sound but struggled to make an impact in the final third. Losing possession 16 times is far too high for a player in his position. He needed to show more quality going forward.

Midfielders
Dmitri Barinov - 7.0: A combative display from the midfielder. He won all three of his tackles and kept the ball moving with purpose. From our perspective, he provided an excellent screen for the defence, breaking up several Jordanian attacks. A very effective, understated performance.
Ivan Oblyakov - 7.5: He was absolutely excellent before his substitution. What stood out was his incredible energy, winning 8 out of 11 duels and making five successful tackles. He was a real ball-winner in midfield. Russia definitely missed his presence and bite when he went off.
Aleksandr Chernikov - 6.0: A strangely quiet game from the midfielder. He was very neat in possession but offered almost no attacking penetration. He lost the majority of his duels and seemed a bit passive for our liking. He needed to impose himself on the game more.
Forwards
A. Mostovoy - 6.0: He looked bright in flashes but was ultimately very ineffective. Losing the ball 13 times in 62 minutes is not good enough. His decision-making was poor, which led to a deserved yellow card. A disappointing display from a player with his talent.
M. Glushenkov - 7.0: Russia's biggest threat, but also their most frustrating player. He had four shots and was desperately unlucky to hit the woodwork with a great effort. However, he also lost possession a staggering 18 times, which consistently killed his team's momentum. A real mixed bag.
Dmitry Vorobyev - 6.5: He worked tirelessly up front but was often isolated against a well-drilled defence. He managed a couple of shots but never really looked like scoring. It was a thankless task for him, chasing long balls and feeding on scraps for most of the match.
Manager
V. Karpin - 6.5: His team controlled the game's possession but seemed to have no clear plan to unlock the Jordanian defence. The build-up play was too slow and predictable. From our perspective, his substitutions didn't have the desired effect and he will be deeply frustrated not to have won this game at home.
Sportsdunia's Player of the Match is Aleksandr Maksimenko
