Juventus confirmed their berth in the knockouts of the FIFA Club World Cup after an easy victory, 4-1, against Wydad Casablanca. Kenan Yildiz was the star for the Serie A club as he forced an own goal and scored a sensational brace. Thembinkosi Lorch pulled one goal back for his side in the first half, but it was nothing but consolation. Yildiz was on target late on before Dusan Vlahovic scored a stoppage-time penalty.
Juventus picked up from where they left off against Al Ain. Kenan Yildiz was playmaking and creating chances with ease. He played a long one-two with Khephren Thuram before slotting the ball in at the near post. It was credited as Abdelmounaim Boutouil's own goal as his block diverted it past the keeper. Yildiz had no regrets as he fired a thundering volley from outside the box from an Andrea Cambiaso offload to make it 2-0 inside 20 minutes. Wydad AC scored one out of the blue as Nordin Amrabat won a duel against Nicolo Savona and released Lorch, who lofted one over the keeper to make it 2-1.
That was the only spark of joy for the Moroccan side as Juventus controlled the game well in the second half. After numerous attempts they finally had their goal to nail the result. Randal Kolo Muani played a measured through pass to release Yildiz, who showed great composure to score the insurance goal and put the result beyond doubt. Dusan Vlahovic scored a stoppage-time penalty to add gloss to the scoreline.
