KuPS 2-4 Trabzonspor Player Ratings: Franculino 8.9/10 as the Black Sea Storm Hold On to Sink the Finns in a Dramatic Tampere Conference League Win

Trabzonspor arrived in Tampere and delivered exactly the kind of authoritative, commanding European performance that Thomas Reis’ side have been building towards across a promising early season, dismantling KuPS 4-1 at the Tammelan Stadium with a display of clinical attacking quality and collective organisation that sends the Black Sea Storm to the top of their Conference League group with a result that could prove decisive in the context of their European campaign.

The tactical blueprint was established within three minutes, with Onuachu’s powerful early finish immediately forcing KuPS into a reactive, disorganised defensive shape that Trabzonspor’s mobile, direct attacking unit exploited with growing confidence throughout. The key turning point arrived in the 44th minute when Mohamed Salah’s composed finish made it 2-0 heading into the break, a moment that effectively extinguished any realistic KuPS belief, before Franculino’s third-minute-of-the-second-half strike completed a 3-0 advantage that left Miika Nuutinen’s side with a mountain too steep to climb.

Franculino was the evening’s standout individual, his two goals, both arriving at moments of maximum psychological importance, demonstrating the movement, composure and clinical finishing that make him Trabzonspor’s most reliable attacking threat in European competition. Pennanen’s 54th-minute consolation, Parzyszek’s missed penalty in the 59th minute, and Engvall’s 90+6 strike gave KuPS two late moments of pride, yet they arrived far too late to threaten a Trabzonspor side that had controlled the contest’s defining passages with commanding authority.
